(Zoop!) Eden was moving quickly through the forest, stopping occasionally to investigate the birch trees that she passed. Her wings glimmered in the dim light and she hesitated, her fingers hovering over a carving in the wood. She touched it lightly with gentle fingertips and suddenly a large, silver net fell on her, the metal burning her skin. She cried out as she fell to the ground, and dark figures in the shadows emerged, their blades glinting in the dull evening sunlight.
Eden struggled weakly, leaning back against the tree as the humans approached. "Don't worry, pixie," one said, his voice smooth as velvet. "This'll only hurt a bit..." He reached for her wings and she screamed in terror, trying to pull away.
The man growled, reaching out and crumpling the tip of her wing in his fist, yanking her towards him. A shudder came from Eden's chest and she went still, her irises growing in her normally warm, golden eyes. The blackness took over her entire eyes, and her Enryli, streaming through her wings, turned a deep, blood red.
The men surrounding her felt rooted to the spot, their lives being drained by the second. The red in Eden's hair spread, deepening as she regarded them coldly, ignoring the angry red burns on her skin from the silver net as she sank slowly to the ground.
He jumped, his eyes wide as he felt his heart skip a beat. Almost instantly he became invisible, a spell he cast before investigating.
Eden's hand was pressed flat against the ground, the vivid, blood-red Enryli pulsing through her wings as the poachers fell to the ground weakly. Her eyes were completely black at this point, and her hair was shimmering, the red slowly making its way up towards her roots.
Her head darted towards him, her gaze cold and unforgiving, the black pools of oil that inhabited her eyes searching him. The hunters gasped for breath, and she studied him for a moment, her fingers curled in the soil.
The look in her eyes felt familiar, and panic would show on his face. "It's just me, Eden. You're safe.."
She paused, her fingers uncurling from the Earth beneath her. The shimmering in her hair halted, before receding slowly, reluctantly. She blinked several times, and the blackness faded away, her familiar, warm golden eyes returning. The men fell to the ground, gasping for air, looking pale and withered, and Eden fell as well, looking weary with tears filling her eyes.
He pulled off the netting quickly, looking rather worried more than upset about the magic. "Are you okay?"
