The house was in chaos. Doors hung off their hinges, the lights completely out. Wood was splintered and furniture was knocked over.
It wasn't until he got to her bedroom that he would find her. She was curled up in bed on top of the covers, asleep. Her wings looked dry and cracked and her hair had deepened in color, the red seeping up and now taking over more than half of her hair, approaching the roots. Her lips were chapped and she took small, short breathes, her brows furrowed.
She mumbled, shifting in her sleep before her eyes opened. They were deep orange and she looked up at him, her brows furrowed weakly. "...Sam?"
