He sat on the edge of the bed, running his hands through his hair.
Eden murmured in her sleep, looking drawn.
He brushed her hair back, obviously worried.

Eden woke a little while later, mumbling weakly.
Sam was still sitting, his head propped up by his hand.
She shifted, looking over at him weakly. "Sam?"
He jumped awake, looking over at her. "Eden?"
She coughed lightly, reaching for him.
He opened his arms, sighing heavily in relief.
She scooted over on the bed, looking up at him tiredly.
He embraced her. "Oh God, Eden.."
She hugged him back, her arms weak around him. "It's okay, Sam. It's all okay..."
He buried his face in her shoulder. "Is it?"
"Yeah," she said, her voice soft and weary. "It's okay."
"I was so scared for you."
"I was too," she admitted. "That... she was a lot harder to get out this time..."
He sighed. "I'm so glad you're okay."
She murmured weakly, brushing her fingers through his hair. "Thank you for taking care of me."
