The Alyndar put her hand on his back, and he would feel fortitude sweeping through him. "Eden, you're not acting like yourself," she said sternly, raising a glowing hand. "Sit still." "No!" she cried harshly, pulling away. "He's going to cut off my wings again!"
Her voice was rough and she eyed him warily, pulling the blanket up to her chin. "Why do you ruin things like this?"
The Alyndar watched her before moving quickly, putting her hand up to Eden's forehead. Eden opened her mouth to cry out, but her eyes went dark and she fell unconscious as the Alyndar worked.
"Uh uh," the Alyndar said over her shoulder, her hands glowing as she worked on Eden. "You stay here. We still need to talk."
Eden's back arched when he returned and the Alyndar clasped her hands over the pixie's lips. "Hold your breath," she instructed him, holding two things in her hands and placing the items in the jars. She capped them quickly. In one jar was a furious red ball of light, bouncing around the jar so viciously it seemed as if the glass may crack. The ball sparked with a dark electricity and it rattled the jar fiercely. In the other, a ball of golden, warm light was still, lying on the bottom of the jar, the glow fluttering weakly. The color was reminiscent of the sun, with golds and browns swirling through it. Eden's body went limp as the lights left her, her hand falling and her eyes rolling back in her head.
"Yeah," she said, inspecting the golden jar gently. "That's our girl. It appears you were right, Sam. Somehow, the other has been in control this whole time."
She considered it before nodding slowly. "Yes, I think so. I imagine she'll be in a fragile state, though. She's been trapped for about a week."
"Probably weak," she said, opening the jar slowly. "See the fluttering? She's been fighting hard, the poor thing. I'd imagine she was able to see everything that was happening but was unable to do anything about it."
She gently scooped the golden orb out of the jar and it laid still in her hands, pulsing faintly. She cupped it over Eden's lips and pressed it down slowly.
