Her hand was shaky and she took a deep breath. “Sam, I don’t know if I would have been comfortable in the forest even if I was myself.”
“No, of course you’re not,” she said, shaking her head and dropping her hand. “Listen to me, okay? I don’t harbor any resentment towards you at all.”
"I am," he said, panicking a bit. "I should have known. I should have seen the signs sooner. I shouldn't have done it."
"You didn't know," she said quietly and her voice trembled as she tried to comfort him. "You thought it was me."
She took a deep breath, standing up, her arms crossed protectively over her chest. "It's okay. Alright? It's okay."
She didn't meet his gaze, biting her lower lip. "I think... I think I might go home," she said quietly, her voice low.
