There was a warmth coming from his hand. The same from the night before.
She relaxed slightly, not meeting his gaze, and she leaned back.
He sighed, keeping her hand in both of his.
"That's nice," she said after a moment, glancing down at it.
He blinked, looking at her. "It is?"
"Yeah. It won't get any hotter, though, will it?"
"No. Just like this."
"Good," she said quietly, looking reserved. "Thank you."
He said nothing more, his brows furrowed.
She hesitated before tentatively scooting towards him,
He blinked before relaxing. "Are you tired?"
“Pretty tired,” she admitted.
He nodded. "Let's get to bed."
She nodded, lying back on the bed.
He joined her, stretching his arms.
She slipped under the covers, turning on her side.
He slid under as well, resting on his back.
Her wings folded neatly against her back and she fell silent, slipping her hands under her pillow.
He turned his head to look at her before looking back up at the ceiling with a frown.
There was a silence.
