"I love you too," she said warmly. "I missed you."
"I missed you too, my siren," he murmured, pulling her closer, his forehead resting on hers.
She was quiet, her fingers in his hair before she kissed him gently.
He blinked in surprise, his hand coming up to rest on her jaw.
She pulled away after a moment, her eyes adoring.
"Have you been alright?" he asked. "How's Miko?"
"Miko has been alright," she said slowly. "She found out about the cure first."
He paused, rubbing her back. "Really? That must have been weird for you."
"It made me sad, because you had already gone.."
"Yeah," he said quietly. "I'm sorry."
She kissed his cheek. "It's okay. Don't worry."
"You should meet Aisling," he said tiredly, resting his head on her shoulder. "She has sweet kids."
She tilted her head. "I would like that."
"They were hesitant to let me leave, but..."
She kissed his hair. "That's understandable."
He closed his eyes, his brow furrowing. "Wake me if I fall asleep, okay?"
"How come?"
"Because I want to talk to you more."
"What about?"
"Just how you've been."
