Ruh Roh (One on One)

He laughed in surprise.

"Okay, you've made your point."

 

"Well, I'm content here."

 

"But maybe I should keep walking."

 

He steadied himself, leaning on his cane.

"It's 'cause I almost died. Near death experiences makes your body comfortable."

 

He looked down at her, his brows furrowed.

“Are you alright?”

 

“I’m sorry,” he said again. “I thought it was the right thing to do.”

 

“I’m glad to be back,” he told her, kissing her forehead.

 

He glanced down at his cane before speaking quietly.

"I think I might sit down at the bottom of these stairs, okay?"

 

“Sorry,” he said sheepishly.

 

“It should get better.”
