She seemed nervous and wary, glancing around before looking back down at him. “Thank you for today. I love you.”
She looked like she wanted to say more but quickly closed her mouth and after giving him a quick wave, she flew away.
Eden was floating outside the window, her brows furrowed and her legs folded underneath her. "Hey. Can... Can I come in?"
She looked hesitant, slipping through the window with a furrowed brow. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come, but I just felt badly about the way I left things, and you seemed really upset, but now I've woken you up, and you were sleeping, and..."
She crossed her arms, but turned to him, looking worried. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, sitting in midair. "I'm acting weird."
He shrugged, taking a seat at his desk. "I've been messing up a lot, lately. Ever since the beginning."
"Sam," she said quietly, cupping his jaw in her hands, her golden eyes intense against his, "it wasn't your fault. The wings weren't you, the college was a mistake, and the forest..." She hesitated for a moment, looking slightly apprehensive. "You didn't know about the forest. I just need to get over it. Okay?"
