"I was raised for fighting," she muttered to herself, kneeling down and hugging her knees. "I stayed at the camp and kept the numbers of rations. I only had to fight when the the attacked, and even then.. my head.." She took a breath. "Why did I break free?"
Tez would not have returned, of course, despite things being nearly over now. Most were allowed to leave, including Miko and Tez, but only Miko would have come back.
Miko had returned to Lark in good shape, despite a few cuts and bruises. She was relieved to be home.
Rowan slung his bag over his shoulder, entering the lab. He took a wipe and applied it to his cut, wincing at the pain. "Hello?"
He barely looked at Miko, trying to clean the blood on his neck. His face was drawn and worried, and he seemed to have high levels of panic hidden under a direct demeanor. "I'm going to Estelyn," he said quietly, looking at Lark. "I'm going to stay there for a while." Lark looked confused, turning from Miko. "What? Why?"
He tensed, looking at her warily. "I have to go," he said again. "I'm going to write you when I get there, but I have to go."
Lark looked over at her, brushing her hair back. "I'm sure she's fine... Do you want to go look for her?"
