He looked up at her, running a hand through his hair. “Maybe I am. I haven’t really been taking care of myself lately.”
A concerned look crossed her face, but she said nothing. It took a moment before she sighed. "I don't know what I was thinking coming here. I was too hopeful."
She shrugged, standing up. "I thought that since I figured out a way to stop it, something good would happen. Like we could start over, or something."
He seemed like the information was too much for his exhausted brain to handle. “I just... I never thought that would be what you wanted.”
He took a breath before looking over at her, his brows furrowed. "I... can you give me time? I'll come back home with you, I just..."
He nodded slowly, dropping his gaze. "Good. I..." He hesitated before shaking his head slowly, still not meeting her gaze. "I missed you."
