Ruh Roh (One on One)

"I think you'll manage."

 

He tensed involuntarily at the nickname.

"I suppose we will."

 

He folded his hands and moved forward.

 

(Zoop?)

 

He opened the door to the apartment that evening, yawning.

 

He set his bag on the couch, heading to the kitchen.

"Go ahead and head to the bathroom. I'll get the oatmeal."

 

He came in a while later.

“It was just your hand, right?”

 

He began to fill the sink with warm water, his head bent over his task.

 

“Come on over here, siren.”

 

He gestured to the water, shaking some of the oatmeal powder into the hot water.
