She looked down at him for a moment before lying down about half a foot away from him, shifting comfortably. "Do you see any shapes in the clouds?" she asked, turning her head to look at him.
She beamed and bumped his shoulder with her forehead playfully. "Don't feel badly. Here, look." She reached her hand up and frowned, her brow furrowing as golden Enryli flew out of her fingertips. It didn't change the shapes of the clouds, but it outlined the images that were illustrated in Eden's head, gradually making it more and more intricate.
She beamed before dropping her hand back to the ground. The gold gradually faded away, leaving the clouds as normal, undefined blobs.
Time passed and Eden's breaths grew gentler as she drifted off, her hand curling her chin in her sleep. If he cared to watch, he would notice that she twitched in her sleep, small flickers of the wing or scrunching her nose.
Her face was gentler in sleep, less nervous, and she murmured slightly, tilting her head back. Her face was naturally sharp, naturally alert, but it also had a childlike softness to it. Her blonde and red hair contrasted sharply with the vivid green grass, and if Sam were to look even closer, he might be able to detect a golden glint darting through her skin.
She mumbled under her breath before turning slowly and scooting towards him in sleep, resting her forehead on his chest and sighing contentedly when she got close.
He felt his heartbeat quicken, his breath catching in his throat. He remained silent, just shutting his eyes as well.
