"I feel like I'm making it all worse," she said suddenly, her voice tremulous. "Like of all the choices I could make it's always the wrong ones."
He glanced at her, his violet eyes blank as he studied her. He was still breathing hard, his brows furrowed and his body tense. "I'm... I'm messed up, Tez," he said flatly. "You've seen me. You've seen what I look like. I'm pretty far gone. I relied too heavily on what I thought you were, and it was a mistake. It's my own fault."
"No," she replied. "If.. If that day hadn't happened it would have been okay. But it did and now I'm some kind of monster and I messed it up. I feel like even being here, my presence is making it worse.
He sighed, folding his arms as he looked over at her, his gaze unfocused. "I've sleepwalked for a long time, Tez. You didn't bring that on. I just wasn't expecting you to be holding me when I woke up. That's all that happened. You're not a monster. It's just something I need to get over."
He sighed and came over to her, pulling her into an embrace. Although the action was sudden, she would hear his heart pounding through his chest and his arms trembling.
He nodded before pulling away, heading for the door. “Thank you for stopping me from jumping out the window.”
Rowan was cooking breakfast over the stove top, some sort of egg quiche dish that he placed in the oven.
