Her fingers ran up the back of his head, brushing through his hair as she turned slightly to face him.
Her eyes were closed, but she seemed to be purely enjoying his proximity as she dozed slightly, her fingers tracing patterns against the back of his head.
She rested her head on his shoulder, her small frame curling around him in a sleepy embrace. "I love you," she murmured quietly in his ear.
Her nose brushed his neck, and she slid back down to lie next to him among the white cotton of their sheets, her hands curled on his chest.
She fell asleep again, her body relaxing trustingly against his as her wings rested gently behind her.
He yawned, not yet falling asleep, he shifted to lean against the headboard, picking up the book on the sidetable and opening it, putting on his glasses as he read.
She blinked up at him uncertaintly. “Are you wearing glasses?” she murmured, burying her face in his neck.
