"It'll be ready in a few minutes."
"It smells good."
"That's a good sign."
"Your stuff always smells good."
"Then that's good."
"It's wonderful."
He grinned. "You're sweet."
She buried her face in his neck, exhaling slowly.
"I love you a lot."
"I love you too, Sam."
He kissed the top of her head before stepping back to finish the food.
She went and sat down at the table, humming under her breath.
He listened, a small smile on his face as he placed the food on plates and joined her.
She rested her head on his shoulder.
He gave her utensils. "Here you are."
She kissed his cheek. "Thank you."
"Of course," he said warmly.
"It smells great."
