He grinned, his thin fingers gently brushing back her hair and tucking it behind her ear. He seemed rather shy, hesitant to meet her gaze. "I love you too."
She paused, lifting his jaw with her fingertips and kissing him lightly, her free hand brushing through his hair.
He chuckled, gently taking her hair and beginning to part it before braiding. "Now, I'm not the best, but I try."
"That's alright," she said sleepily. Her hair was soft to touch, and her shampoo smelled vaguely of honeysuckle. Her wings stirred under her, folding against her back as she leaned into his touch, her eyes closed.
