She considered it, resting her head on his shoulder. "I don't think there's a sacred reason or anything. I'm sure you've noticed that pixies are really focused on community. We teach each other, we raise each other, we take care of each other. Intricate braids are generally not things that you can do by yourself, so the hairstyle requires that sort of 'taking-care-of-each-other' thing."
"Our communities aren't like yours. We rarely are friends with out teachers and we don't really need to teach others things unless its life lessons. We like to just hang out and stuff."
"Hang out..." she said slowly, resting her head against his chest before looking up at him. "Like we're doing right now?"
She rested her hand on his shirt, looking up at him thoughtfully before lying down in the green grass.
He pursed his lips. "When I was in school I used to sell potions at a market on weekend evenings with my friend. It was fun."
