She held it out to him with a small smile. "Try this."
He hesitated before taking a small bite.
It had a rich chocolate taste, with a small amount of salt to balance it. There wasn't fish.
He looked relieved. "No fish."
"I told you."
"Thanks for not tricking me."
"You're welcome. Do you like it?"
"It's good! It's different from what I've had."
She grinned. "That's good. I'm glad you like it."
"It's more savory than Elven desserts."
"Do you like the elven ones more?"
"They're more familiar, at the very least."
She nodded, before tilting her head. "When is your birthday?"
He frowned. "Why do you ask?"
"Cause I want to know.. Do you celebrate it?"
"I haven't had much reason to."
"Can we?"
"I mean... I suppose."
She grinned. "Lovely! When is it?"
He huffed. "December 21st."
