"Mm," she said, opening the window completely and stretching out her wings slowly. "Sit there and I'll sit here and it'll be good."
She stretched out her wings and the sun hit them, casting rainbow lights on the walls inside the house. Her hand slipped in his and she leaned her head back against the windowsill.
She didn't seem to notice, the tips of her wings fluttering in the slight breeze. "Do you know about how important sun is to live wings?"
"Well, you know vitamin D for humans? We get something called Baeslik from the sun instead and it increases our Enryli circulation. So when we have to fly, and the Enryli needs to move quickly through our system, the Baeslik is a huge part in what gives us the ability to move our wings quickly enough."
"This might be a silly question, but does that mean you can't fly as well at night? ..Are you like a plant?"
She squinted at him. "Can your liver produce proteins at night? The sun isn't out, so you can't make Vitamin D. Plant human."
