She was unfamiliar with the area, but was sure to stay aware, though easily got distracted. She wandered further into the market, her eyes bright.
Rowan glanced up, his face lightening momentarily when he saw Tez before it dropped back to a scowl. He approached her, his head tilted. "What are you doing here?"
She looked up at him. "I didn't expect to see you.. but I'm just looking around a bit." She hesitated. "Is that alright?"
Her brows furrowed slightly, and she seemed thoughtful. "She fell asleep, but.. she could wake up.. I might go back."
He watched her leave for a moment before his eyes widened and he moved forward, catching her in his arms and pulling her out of the way of a large car that prattled down the road.
She gasped, her eyes widening as she instinctively reached and grabbed his arm, watching the car that passed.
He was holding her close for a moment, and she would be able to feel his heart pounding through his chest. He looked down at her after a moment, his eyes surprisingly gentle. "You okay?"
He seemed to realize that he was too close and stepped back, his expression hardening. "Well, you walked right into the middle of the road! You need to be more careful!"
She looked small as he scolded her, her brows furrowed. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have come here. I should have just stayed back with Mikö." She shook her head, her eyes watching the road warily. "Sorry."
