"I sound like a separate species. Why don't you try speaking in my language and try to not sound old?"
Sam held a small jar in front of him, explaining the technique of summoning spirits. "Generally they range from blue to red, depending on levels of good or bad, so to speak. Summoning a spirit is best to do with a jar because can pull any kind at random, like so." He went quiet, focusing on the jar before a small light shone. It was white for a moment before an angry red spirit, which looked similar to a ball made of smoke, appeared inside.
Sam didn't seem to notice, obviously caught up in teaching. "It seems we've got a fiesty one. Not to worry, though. It can't break through the glass." He set it on the table in front of him. "We can leave that there until I return it to its world. Now, let's try conjuring some familiars."
There would be a pause in Sam’s mind. “Human. Huh.” It would be a weird sensation for Sam to have his self, his very being, compressed into a corner of his mind. He would suddenly feel his control of his limbs die away, and something new took its place. The red light in the jar settled on the bottom. “There we go,” it soothed. “There we go.”
There was a pause before Sam cleared his throat. His eyes glinted before he raised a hand. "Observe." A blue portal opened, and a familiar owl soared out, landing on his arm.
He noticed, offering a small smile back. "Alright. Summoning familiars is a bit difficult. You have to reach within the inner part of yourself while using the common conjuring spell you use for every summoning. The inner part is just the hardest."
