She frowned before standing up, pursing her lips as she came over to him, her wings folding against her back. “Okay. What’s next?”
Her eyes were a golden yellow and they almost seemed to glow, swirling with reddish brown flecks reminescent of sunlight on the forest floor. She blinked, feeling a little uncomfortable under his gaze. “Uh... it changes,” she managed, shrugging slightly. “I mean, I can’t think of a color I haven’t seen.”
She laughed slightly, rubbing her hand through her own blonde and red hair. “Uh... at this point it’s kinda hard to say. We dye our hair so frequently. This is my natural coloration, though, if that helps.”
She seemed worried, her brow furrowed as she considered him. “A blood sample? Like, you’re taking my blood?”
She flew over to him, her brow furrowed. She considered his notes carefully with a frown. “How will you get it? The blood?”
She floated in midair, crossing her arms as she studied him confusedly, her lips pursed. “I think I have to see this to believe it,” she said eventually.
He cocked his head, standing pulling a kit of a cupboard. He opened it to reveal medical supplies, taking out a clean syringe and disinfectants. "Arm, please."
Her eyes widened and she took a deep breath, crossing her arms protectively. “You’re sticking that in my arm?” she asked incredulously. “That can’t possibly be safe.”
She frowned before extending her arm tentatively, her hand opening to him. “If I die because of your experiment...”
He wiped the spot on her arm with disinfectant. It would be cold. He looked up at her, his head cocked. "This might hurt a little bit."
She nodded slowly, but her eyes were growing wider with alarm and she bit her lip, her breaths shallow. “How much?”
