She buried her face in his neck. The spirit looked at the wings for a moment. "So, Sam... I have a choice here."
"I could cut them off," he said with a shrug. "She'd probably get free and go tell the Alyndar. Or, I could make things even for you."
He came over to the cage, kneeling down. "Say it, Sam. Say you want me to make it even, or say you want her wings. Make a choice."
The spirit grinned widely, standing up. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" Eden turned her face into Sam's neck, taking a deep breath.
Sam was quiet for a moment, before bringing a hand up and wrapping it around her throat, pushing her back against the bed with force as he grinned down at her, his eyes almost pitying. "Oh, you silly pixie."
She yelped in surprise, her eyes wide as fear quickly filled her gaze. "Sam, stop," she said, tugging at his hand around her throat. "You're hurting me, stop!"
