She rolled her eyes embarrassedly. "Hush. What are you studying?"
"Potion making."
"Oh, really? Like what?"
"Advanced water breathing. It'll last for at least a day."
“I can’t swim,” she said sadly, rubbing his back slowly. “So you’ll have to test it without me.”
"Because of your wings?"
"Right. They get waterlogged."
"I wonder if you could waterproof them."
“I’m a little hesitant to experiment on them...”
"Hm.. No, no. I was just wondering."
“Yeah. It’s something we have to deal with.”
"Oh well. Maybe one day there will be an easier solution. What do you do when it starts raining?"
She frowned. “Try and fly fast. Or walk.”
"Oh. Interesting. I wonder if umbrellas would work."
“Over the wings? You don’t think it would look silly?”
"Invisible umbrella."
"God, I love you," she murmured, kissing the top of his head.
"I love you too."
"C'mon. Let's go up to bed, okay?"
He turned off his light and stood, offering his hand.
