She flew over to him, her eyes narrowed in sympathy, the cut on her face gone. “I’m fine. Let me see.”
“You’re lucky that’s all that happened,” she said, placing her hand on the bridge of his nose, a warmth coming from her palm.
“Mm,” she said, nodding approvingly before kissing his cheek. “Only for minor wounds, though. It’s not very strong.”
“Of course,” she said affectionately, hesitating before running her hand through his hair. “I’m sorry you ended up hurting yourself.”
She pursed her lips before kissing his cheek, her lips soft. She straightened up and headed back to the kitchen, her gaze thoughtful.
She buried her face in his neck, her fingers brushing the back of his neck as she took a deep breath.
He would hear the smile in her voice as she kissed his jawline lightly. "You seem nervous. Why are you nervous?"
