This was a really good episode, but it seems kinda *squee!*ed up that everyone is ok with Thorax making a friend so that he can feed on the love they create. It's like unlike the other changelings this one is ok because he wants to be friends first and then if its cool he's gonna suck the love out of you.

I'd have to give this an 8/10

Just saw this, why didn't they do this originally? It makes Thorax's voice much better. This should be canon.

I have been waiting for a good, solid episode involving changelings since A Canterlot Wedding. The brief appearance by them at the end of season 5 only made me want it more, and this one didn't disappoint. I loved the whole idea, and that Spike is, once again, the hero to the entire Crystal Empire. I was also quite pleased that Spike got to do a song - a real song, this time, not one he had the misfortune of botching horribly in front of millions.

My only real complaint with this episode is that it probably should have been a two-parter. Some parts of it were incredibly rushed, I thought, and could have been expanded on, especially dealing with Shining Armour's lingering hatred of changelings. He seemed to accept Thorax a little too easily at the end of the episode after his history.

All in all, though, a great episode, and I hope it sets the stage for a future appearance by Thorax and/or the rest of Chrysalis' hive.
