Yeti, most of those suggestions seem so... unprofessional. Hasbro does not care about the bronydom. If i was on their place, i'd be the same. They care about the money they'll earn, and they basically earn more money when everybody's paying for the episodes 3$ rather than for one to pay it for 100$ (donate, not pay (He'll rather donate the money for them, not pay for the episode)) and 1000 of others download it for free. Another thing: That "donate-like button" would render their product worthless. They have to pay the people for working on the episode. It'll result in everyone downloading it for free and saying "There's gonna be someone who'll donate to them. So, i'll not make them any poorer." Just imagine everybody saying the same... and there you go, MLP. Cancelled. This is just one scenario. But those things you suggested one company that works for money (for what else would they work anyways?) would not even think about.
This is horrible.. i cannot afford episodes on itunes, and i cannot afford the hub. i will also be cut off, like Yetione.
To be honest I don't care that much even though I'm European. There is always some way to get it, legal or illegal. What I care about though is that they may not get enough money and cancelling the show. :/ What channel is the Swedish dub at?
HASBRO like every other company just wants money. Maybe the people who work on the show would have liked it to stay up, but I cant be sure.
Somewhat off topic, but DJ Alex S's youtube account has been suspended for copyright issues... I hope it isn't what I think it is. I hope it was just trolls.
Why is it that I'm not all that bothered? About the whole "where am I gonna watch MLP?" crisis, I mean. Not the Ponyarchive page, that was such a poor reaction I just don't want to talk about it.... ...wait... Damn, I love his stuff... But anyway, Hasbro is a long-running corporation, and a successful one at that. They won't stop and think about a group of fans that want free episodes and claim it's advertising, which effectively it does help advertise, but Hasbro make more money by limiting access to these free versions because ultimately, like any other company, they want your money, nothing more. That's just how the world works, I'm afraid! :I There will always be at least one person to upload episodes anyway... the ones who only get a couple o' thousand hits per episode just stay in the shadows, you just gotta dig. Edit: Lawl @ post count... ERROR 404. Ah, so appropriate. Edit 2: 405, joke no funny no more.
Well I emailed EQD, and they said that its trolls who attacked Alex S. So that's good in the sense meaning he'll be able to bring his channel back up. So false alarm I guess. And yes sadly, while it does help "promote" the product. Its promoting in the wrong way, it gets people to illegally download, which ends up not being so helpful. And I'm unsure about the "stay in the thousands of hits". That probably wouldn't last long once they get discovered lol.
Thank Celestia! It just all seems to be one massive coincidence that it all happened at the same time... I was starting to get the impression that Hasbro was moving in for attacks on brony content all across the web. :derpe:
Me too lol. Well the reply I got from EQD just said "It's trolls." So I'm HOPING its true and not what they THINK. But I don't think Hasbro is going to hunt down all the music bronies! ...I hope not anyway.
It's at Boomerang, that almost no one has. Lol I hope they simply make you able to watch them on some kind of website filled with advertising. That would give them their money and us our show. Plus, that at least the Sweds can access it! A big bunch of Swedish tv channels throw up their shows on the web, filling them with advertising. I don't know about American ones though.
Concerning the Ponyarchive: Hasbro had every right to carry out a legal threat. The site was illegally sharing downloads for the episodes. This is usually a sign that the company's about to sell DVDs - which they indeed have. As for Alex S., according to Alex is was "the NCF trolls", and he has a secons account. I can't see the bad news in this. If we are able to watch the episodes on their site everything seems fine.
Also guys you can find most of the EPs in orders here - http://www.watchcartoononline.com Any they work in any country! http://www.watchcartoononline.com/anime/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic S1 EP1 - S2 EP10 All streamed
The thing that buggs me though is that I don't even have the option of paying for the episodes, I essensially have to pirate them. I should write to Hasbro about that region block and try to persuade them to make the hub and itunes episode available in Europe. I want to support the show but I simply can't. Though, unless SOPA passes the youtube videos will always continue to be uploaded, the demand is too great.
