available only in low quality... anyway, seems that Hasbro didn't know for region lock on hub world. person that sent me back email said that they will pass it trough to hub, but later today, i'll email hub to ask them to unlock videos at hub world.
Great, because the current setup make no sense if they want an international audience . Hasbro seem pretty nice for a major corporation compared to the likes of RIAA and MPAA, who are the ones pushing for SOPA. Which by I mean that Hasbro at the very least regognize the need of a legal online source.
I like that you are sending mail to the hub. What is their e-mail address? Maybe if we all get together and send them mail and ask them to implement your suggestions they may see reason. Also I was quite taken aback at ponyarchive's reaction. This is something that trolls and brony haters will most likely use against us just to make us mad. I hope to see positive results soon.
I would certainly hope to help by emailing the hub. I am actually going to give them a phone call and ask some questions about international audiences.
Ai güey! that was a low blow hasbro, shame on you. [edit] Ok so there was some illegal activity going on in the site. Download site, I get it now. Yetione's replied e-mail does show that hasbro is capable of taking down videos even on youtube. Which of course that they can but weren't we under the impression they agreed to allow them stay on youtube? Man I hate when companies can't give their fans a straight answer.
Spoiler: emails support@hubworld.com , hasbro@custhelp.com , tbd@hasbro.com , kbean@hasbro.com , Hasbrogamespr@hasbro.com , hasbroregistration@hasbro.com , vancouver@dhxmedia.com these are emails i've been sending out letters. Good thing dough is that they have actually replied and made some kind of dialog with me. I hope something will change Spoiler: spoiler until then: snađi se druže
I don't see why the Hub won't put up all the episodes on their site... Its filled with advertising and commercials. If they got the brony audience to watch on the Hub, that would be helpful for them.
I'm starting to think the Hub should just upload the episodes themselves. I mean, if they can show them on their site, I don't see why Hasbro would be against them uploading them on youtube. I'm probably wrong about that, but it's the best idea I can think of. Plus, I doubt trolls would be able to get the videos removed if they were uploaded legally.
Well currently the Hub only shows the latest episode, and clips from others. Plus they have advertising specifically for Hubworld and Hasbro related things. YouTube does not. I think the Hub should host all episodes on their site. It will make it easier because it will be a central location for Bronies to watch episodes (internationally too!), and the large amounts of views, also count toward advertisements. The more people that see an advertisement, the more money Hub gets.
Well.. since im in the us i need to get season 1 since i won't be able to watch it online much longer.
I think I may have to buy it on iTunes. Although I'm not a fan of buying shows with iTunes... I'm personally against downloading torrents, especially for MLP, as I like to support the show. I'm not against streaming, but I think Hasbro is afraid of those who use Youtube Downloading programs to take videos from YouTube. If the Hub simply put the episodes on their site, its essentially impossible to download those episodes.
Hopefully we can convince them that removing the region lock will grant them massivly increased revenue, we bronies are legion and would contribute much to views.
Even though its so easy to download from YouTube, I still think that Hasbro should leave the videos up. While it may lessen the traffic of viewers to the Hub, Hasbro, etc. I only see good in keeping the videos up on YouTube. It allows those who are non-bronies, to discover the show, and become fans; which in turn helps Hasbro. More fans = more toy sales, etc. And if a DVD box set is released, nearly every fan would love to have it. I see YouTube as a good way to get people to discover the show, but Hasbro sees it differently unfortunately.
