I thought this was a fine episode. It wasn't great, but it had it's moments. I mean, I was laughing, so that was a good sign. I would give this episode either an 8/10 or a 9/10. 9/10 because I liked the lesson. The lesson could be read, "Don't have kids if you can't handle the responsibility." I think this episode adds to what I all ready believed about Pinkie Pie. Pinkie Pie is a silly pony, but she is not stupid and not an airhead. She understands a lot more than what other characters of her type would know. For example, other silly characters would try and feed the ponies cake. I've gain more respect for Pinkie Pie because of this episode. I also like how the twins felt guilty about making Pinkie Pie cry. Because they didn't realize that they were causing any problem. The last third of the episode was creepy. The last third reminded me of Doctor Who. There was an episode with these aliens creature called the Silence, and they were in this abandon building. It just felt right out of that episode. It makes the last third even creepier.
I tend to watch the episodes for the lessons they teach, not because I necessarily need to learn them but it just warms my black and evil heart to see something that's actually TEACHING young girls good character and this episode is NECESSARY. Most girls are brought up thinking babies are easy toys you can just put away when you don't want to deal with them. Others think babies will solve all their problems and they have them way too young. This episode plainly shows how difficult it can be to care for children, even though there are two parents around its hard. I think this is VERY important for young girls to see, even if it is through ponies.
How often will I get a new FiM episode on my birthday? Because this episode had to be the best birthday present ever! To be honest, I actually had my doubts with this episode at first, I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it as much as I did. But I was wrong. Honestly I was actually a little worried with what they were doing with Pinkie this season. But this episode restored some of the faith I lost in her, for sure! I think it was the part with her crying that did it.
This episode: Really confusing how the heck does the foals use their magic and wings when they're not trained for it. It just brings more confusion, your brain can't handle how are they're levitating themselves, I mean- I'll just shut up, it's obvious it's cartoon logic or what the other people had just said.
Hmm I also would question the baby character design color choice. I mean we can see Carrot Cake in little Pumpkin Cake, but where did Pound Cake's colors come from? Neither look like their mama...SWITCHED AT BIRTH!?
ikr. i think the reason why they already know how to use magic and their wings is probably cause they might've saw other ponies use their magic wings. Anyways, i know this is sort of a dumb question but why did mrs cake tell pumpkin cake not to chew on objects i mean like they could've gave pumpkin cake a pacifier at least since usually when babies are first born they have no teeth and as their teeth begin to come in, their gums begin to get itchy
I think she was worried PC would chew on something and: 1) Get hurt if its poisonous or sharp 2) Accidentally swallow something which could choke or injure her. Your right though, though I think at one point they did give her a chewky (as my parents called it) and she spit it out to chew on other things.
I guess PC wants to chew on other things cause like i said, it could be a bad habbit or she just likes to chew on anything.
I chuckled through out the whole episode. ^^ Poor Pinkie just didn't know what she got herself into. The scene where pinkie sees pound cake walking along the ceiling is definately a reference. I've seen it in other shows but I never found out to what movie it belongs to. Good episode. Really a cartoonish one.
A nice episode, but the "They're in the walls!" moment made it for me Definitley one of my favourite moments from the series so far.
I thought this episode was really excellent, both for the lesson and also for sheer hilarity. It's nice to know a bit more about pony genetics too. The only thing I didn't like was Pinkie's getting dragged around by Pound Cake. Sure, physics should be taken with a grain of salt, but for continuity's sake, lifting another pony should at least take some effort!
I just realized something. If pinkie wanted the two to get into the tub, she could've put something in the tub for pumpkin to chew on and something for pound cake to pound on
Whenever, I see something that doesn't make sense in the show, I tend to come up with theories to explain them. Maybe baby ponies just randomly fly/do magic due to some sort of surge of power, like Rarity was saying, and they lose this after they reach a certain age. Overall, I thought the episode was great and Pinkie Pie is best pony (in my opinion). One of my favourite parts of the episode was when everyone was giving genuine excuses why they couldn't babysit and Rarity just said "LOL I can't be asked".
This was one of my favourite episodes! Just loved it all. Did somepony notice in the begining, when mr Cake explained why one of the twins was a unicorn and why the other twin was a pegasus and then just looked all confused and said "Eh that makes sense, right?" I laughed so much, his face.. xD And when Pound Cake was missing and there were so many scary voices, dark hallways... and he then crawled across the ceiling! OMG. This might be the best episode, in my opinion^^ And the twins were sooooo adorable when they felt bad for Pinkie and dropped sacks of flour in their own heads to make her laugh! :')
I have mixed feelings. On one hand this was really funny, on the other I could not help thinking "note to self, don't get kids... ever" . I alternated between laughing hysterically and feeling sorry for Pinkie Pie . I have not felt so conflicted since I watched my first pony episode and was suprised I liked it. I think I have to watch it again for proper judgement. Who am I kidding, I am just biased from the G3 baby ponies, this episode is great. Edit. Yeah, after some thought, I came to the conclusion I do like the episode, still feel sorry for Pinkie though. I think my head is in the sink, can't think straight.
So, what did we learn? Genetics do indeed exist in Equestria. Sanitary logic does not exist in Equestria. (3:26) In fact, logic in general does not exist in Equestria. (As one youtuber pointed out, "1 month old pegasus can fly, but ~10 year old scootaloo can't. F*** LOGIC.) Babies are still hell to take care of in Equestria. (But dammit, they are still cute!) Having stuff dumped on your head is still the apex of comedy in Equestria.
Well not necessarily. Winged unicorns might only occur through a strict lineage of just Unicorn and Pegasi. So for example, the father having to have a family strictly of unicorns, and the mother just pegasi. Winged Unicorns are a symbol of royalty, and this was common practice even in real history, to keep the lineage "pure". It seems the Cakes just had that random unicorn or pegasus in their families, making the chance small, but still possible.
Judging by Mr Cakes composure when explaining pony genetics, I think something else might he going on
for those saying that certan stuff in the episode dident make seance i like to point my rebutle on the matter..... this is Pinkie pie we are talking about here...... i think iv said enough
