I have thought about this, and I do have an explanation of why. Her powers is in fact very similiar to another characters, namely Discord. Pinkie might be a descendant of the Lord of Chaos. But unlike Discord who does his antics for his own amusement at the expense of others, Pinkie find happiness from the amusement of others. It may be so that Pinkie is the spirit of chaotic good while Discord represents chaotic evil.
Come to think of it, I saw a comic on Rarit-E's funny thread showing that Pinkie can breed with dragons. I'd link it but I can't find it straight away. She could have some dragon blood in her. Actually I think that it is children's cartoon which is bound to have logical flaws but what good is a children's cartoon if you can't over-analyse it?
Finally got around to watching this episode. Curse you homework! Anyway, I can say, with 100% confidence that this episode was 10/10 for me. The humor was very good, the sad story about the donkey. Oh my god, it reminded me of the movie UP (Not 100% the same, but it felt like elements were the same). Good thing everything worked out in the end. The song was great. I love the fact that Rainbow Dash is reading Daring Do. Awesome! I also liked the Yankee doodle dandy song (I got excited when I heard that playing). Overall, this episode worked out while for me. I actually fit the ending was handled well and it wasn't rushed. Also, bought everything in the episode because it all made sense. I can't believe I even forgot about that female donkey in the beginning. However, I do have one question. What is with the cow going to Sugercube corner? I found it strange because it's the first time we see that happening. Well, whatever. Great episode.
I found it to be more of a sad episode than a funny episode. I was expecting to hear more of Pinkie's hilarious long-winded explanations, but no such luck. The smile song was better than the episode itself(I never listened to the leaked version). I did find it amusing that Rainbow Dash was reading more Daring Do. Here's some of my favorite quotes from the episode: Pinkie Pie: Oh silly me, I must've put the confetti in the oven and the cake in the confetti cannons...Again! Cranky: No, you're extra special, kid. Rainbow Dash: Yeah, he doesn't want to be bothered by your over-the-top superhyper antics.
Awesome. Just awesome. Everypony already spitted out every thing I could say from this episode. Rainbow Dash at Twilight's reading Daring Doo, Derpy stuck in a freaking snow globe, the song (which I never knew it was leaked) the similarity with Up (Ironically, I've just watched it)... Just awesome.
This really feel like a fix fic for "Griffon the Brush Off". Pinkie Pie takes the time to figure out why is Cranky Doodle so bitter and do something to fix it. What always pisses me off is that Glinda never gotnthat chance. Everyone calls her "antagonist" or "villain", but she a was a good friend of Rainbow Dash until Pinkie got her angry. I really wish Pinkie would have apologized, or what Rainbow dash tried to do something to restore his friendship with Glinda. I mean, let's keep this in mind: Discord, who did NOTHING to warrant such treatment, eventally received friendship and love from Fluttershy and turned good. So a monster like Discord can receieve true friendship and be forgiven for his past actions, but not a victim of circumstance like Gilda? It feels like the show it's saying "the power of friendship fixes everything, except when you made something to draw way one of your friends. In that case, call that person a 'villain' and never bother to find out why she's so angry."
From this point on, every time you post something unnecessarily negative for no conceivable reason, I will counteract your toxic attitude with pictures of kittens.
I really don't get you. I used to be a part of a Harry Potter forum. Back then, me and other Potterites often criticized elements from the books, raised questions that arose from certain books, and even compared the things the movies did wrong when compared to the books. None threw around words like "toxic" back there. We understood that, yes, we were Potterites, but that doesn't mean we have to be sunshine and rainbows about everything in the franchise, that we can criticize the books or the movies and still love them, that Rowling isn't perfect and can make mistakes. So...why is here so different? Why do I have to say only positive things about the show?
This is a happy fandom. Be happy, dammit. (No, you don't have to be positive all the time. But it wouldn't hurt to try and find something nice to say about the episodes. Nobody likes a critic who's always negative.)
OK...what about "The Mysterious Mare Do Well"? When Twilight got turned into an Alicorn? "Keep Calm and Flutter On"? When they changed everything about Derpy in "The Last Roundup"? Was anyone "happy" back then? If they have a right to complain, then so do I. In fact, you keep forgetting that I was the only one DEFENDING "The Mysterious Mare Do Well".
Harry Potter is aimed at pre-teens and teens. MLP is a show for CHILDREN. Not every aspect of the show is going to live up to our adult expectations.
