good episode. Dont know what more to say about it. I liked rarity's and pinkie pie's performance. More different ponies appeared in this episode. and I guess Iron Will now joins the internet fandom along with his quotes I guess.
I had to watch it twice to see how I felt about this one. I liked it more on my second watching of it. It's just that Fluttershy seems to have an ON/OFF switch for her personality. Hopefully the lesson she learns in this one carries over and she finds a happy medium. And Angel needs a whoopin'! The smack he gave Fluttershy in the beginning made him drop way down on my list of likeable characters.
TwilightSprinkle's Review Corner: Putting Your Hoof Down It was okay. I'm a sucker for Fluttershy, but this episode was middle of the road for me. I did enjoy Iron Will, as well as the "Rabbit Season/Duck Season" conversations by Pinkie and the "Gone With the Wind" shout-out (Now, just have Big Mac say to Cheerilee "frankly, my little pony, I don't give a damn"). But, it is true that Mary Williams has improved heavily since the episode that shall not be named. Final grade: B-
^This. You've left me with nought to say, curses! XP Apart from, I'd have given it a mid C myself. It was a pretty terrible episode. And season 1 is still my favourite season. I just feel like season 2 has lost... something. I can't really explain, it just doesn't feel the same... A few still have that something, but the rest... Just... Don't. And it's unfortunate, some of my favourite episodes are from this season. Yet some of the other episodes bring the whole season down for me, Hearth's Warming Eve being the main culprit.
I have to say, this episode had one of saddest scenes I've seen in mlp so far. that scene when Fluttershy insulted Rarity's and Pinkie Pie's occupations, and things they love, their faces on that scene was just heart breaking.
Exactly what I though, after Iron Will said "You're on my way" on his demonstration. Either way, a good episode. I still prefer the last two though :derpe:
I liked It. I'm just glad Fluttershy FINALLY had an episode in season 2. This was also a scary episode for me. Angry Fluttershy is scary Fluttershy.
I really enjoyed this episode and I think everyone can related. I also think it was an excellent representation of the sort of thing we all have to deal with in our culture, where people think assertiveness (and freedom of speech) means they can be mean and rude and not be held accountable. Course it also shows that we are all bullies deep down as well, and given the chance we will push people around. I felt bad for poor Fluttershy- she should have gotten assertiveness training from Caesar Millan instead LOL Remember Fluttershy- you need to be calm assertive; not aggressive.
That was suppose to be a joke, because Mare-do-well is considered the worst episode by her. So I was trying to be funny, but I guess I failed at that.
I agree 100% that made me really sad. It shows that your real friends stick by you at you best and worst. Im glad they made up that the end. I like this episode more than I thought I would.
I know. Want some Deep fried Rabbit?I found it wandering outside of Fluttershy's house. What? *Takes a bite outta the Rabbit*Thats where i do most of my hunting. OH crap you know my secret!*Climbs rooftops and leaps through air screaming*
Better than last episode. And the most sad season 2 episode beside the second episode and The Last Roundup.
It was an enjoyable episode. I think they may have took it a little too far with the 'new' Fluttershy hurting other ponies to get her way. That seemed way off from her typical on/off switch with her attitude. And I didn't see anyone mention Derpy yet. She's in the middle of the crowd at the seminar. My favorite quotes of the episode: Iron Will: When somepony tries to block, show them that you ROCK! Fluttershy: ...that nopony else gives a flying feather about!
Those are the lines that I would like to know if the voice actor screwed up on. For example, Andrea Eva Libman screwing up and saying "that nopony else gives a flying f*** about!" in Fluttershy's voice.
This assertiveness stuff actually has applications in real life. I just explained to my brother that I'm not going to overhaul the core mechanic of the roleplaying game I'm making (which he thought was overcomplicated but really only half of it was) and why. I'm only changing half of it because I think he's half right. Also, I never thought Fluttershy would use the stare on Angel, the one animal who deserves it the most XD. Teh WOOTZ!
Fluttershy is great, shy most of the time but a force to be reckoned with if pushed over the edge. Angel was just horrible though, Fluttershy should file for abuse.
