http://pastebin.com/3J7QFx7S Did another commentary. Discord is darn amazing. Definitely going in my book of favorite villains ever. And I think I have a new favorite character from the show too: Spoiler: SURPRISE! Tom. HE WAS FREAKING AWESOME.
well, I watched episode twice and I can say it was awesome. I just loved the moment with pinkie in the end: wait just a second *drinks chocolate rain* also: Spike: now New Rainbow Dash xD episode was epic, just few things I have to say: - Luna wasn't there in last scene in Canterlot - Too bad there wasn't enough time to bring on flashback's of all ponies - Discord seemed to not put much resistance (considering how smart and experienced was he), they beat him rather too easy - While converting back Rainbow Dash, ropes around here magically diapered (more bloopers will come once my download will be complete) also, Flutterbe....um... Fluttershy's mean humor on twilight and spike was rather very funny.
Well, I just finished watching episode 2, I had it recorded til I could get to it. There was some things I didn't like, mostly in agreement with what other people have said. As for the lack of RBD, thats because she became disloyal and left them, so it fit, and I'm sure there will be plenty of her in the episodes to come. Other than that, this was one of the funniest MLP episodes so far. "Look out, here comes Tom!" *Tom crashes through wall* "What's wet and clueless? You're face!" "Make it stop!" "We will never speak of this again..." xD
I don't remember the quotes from when I actually saw the episode air live. ...but I liked the part where Spike said Rainbow Dash was missing still, and Twilight made Spike the new Rainbow Dash. Me: No Spike! Your not the new Rainbow Dash! I am!
My favorite line: That...big...dumb...MEANIE!! Fluttershy truly cracked me up in this episode. Not to mention Spike being the new Rainbow Dash.
On the whole I'd say I liked this episode. I see that two of my theories half-verified. Theory 1: The Elements of Harmony were in the six different places where the ponies began (Canterlot Library, Tree in Ponyville, Middle of Ponyville, Sweet Apple Acres, Clouds, Carousel Boutique). Half-verification: They were in Ponyville, but in its Library, not scattered everywhere. Theory 2: Canterlot Library. Half-verification: Library-Yes. Canterlot-No. So, although I was wrong, at least I was on the right path. I had a feeling they were in Ponyville somewhere (most of them, at least). Also, now we have a better understanding about the Elements. The ponies are not the elements. The elements themselves are separate. They are simply "linked" or compatible with them, but only in their pure states. So now that answers my questions from Episode 1's discussion. The time contraint is really a bummer, because I felt certain parts were rushed, but that's not their fault. I thought Discord's defeat was rather anticlimactic. He was wreaking so much chaos: Day and night changes were frequent, soap roads, chocolate rain, floating islands etc. The ponies became even more corrupted, and he even managed to get to Twilight for a little bit. Then at the end he just sits there as if saying, "come at me, bro." His own overconfidence was his downfall. At least Nightmare Moon put up a fight before she was defeated. Discord just sat there. What I liked about this episode was how all the corrupted ponies acted toward each other. I would never want to see them like that all the time, but seeing them in their "gray" states (Even Spike pointed it out), makes us realize how even more awesome the characters are when they're in their pure forms. Although they saved Rainbow Dash for the end, but at least they devoted more time toward her "purification." I may be overthinking some of these, but did one of the ponies acknowledge Pinkie breaking the 4th wall? You know, when she was asked by Twilight who she was talking to. Pinkie just said, "Any of you, all of you." Also when Spike said "Make it stop." I saw artwork made by someone that had that exact same line it. Hmmm. Fanservice? Maybe, maybe not. Just a thought I had when I saw that scene. I've watched this episode once so far, so I may have more thoughts after repeat viewing. Aren't you guys so "lucky"? Heh. Overall, the episode was good. Discord was hilarious and I still admire him as a villain. My only complaint was his defeat because it seemed unfitting and rushed, but that may only be due to the time constraint. For all we know the writers may have wished there was more time. I would've loved to see his evil reign last a little longer than it did. Oh well. These are the beginning episodes for Season 2, and as Season 1 had demonstrated, the following episodes are the better ones. I'm sure that the best is yet to come. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. Oh, by the way. It's confirmed. Spike's the new Rainbow Dash.
"Congratulations Spike, you are the new Rainbow Dash" hahaha was so funny Twilight was realy angry or, out of her normal sense to belive that that could work XD
Oh yeah! How could I forget about this wonderful line?! Oh my, Fluttershy. I didn't know you were into THAT sorta thing.
I just noticed! Do you see Pinkie Pie's expression in that video clip?! HA HA HA! I'm seriously cracking up. I think she's intrigued by what she sees. Haha. This is so wrong. XD Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qIiAQrdfsY&t=9 I'm going to be bulking my quote-arsenal here, haha.
Time to use these quotes as well! I'm the new Rainbow Dash woohoo! My favorite part out of all of Episode 2.
and obiously, did you notice the incredible similation of the end and the end of Stars Wars IV That maybe mean that Lauren, or the ones that make the episode want to make a little reference to honor Star Wars XD
I wouldn't of gotten this the first time through. Wow. It fits perfectly. __________________________ Anyways... "What about Rainbow Dash?" "Congratulations Spike, your the new Rainbow Dash. Now lets go!" "Me?! B-b-but! What if she finds out I've been impersonating her?! Ugh...that won't end well." "Too bad. Your Rainbow Dash."
Finally saw the ep (it sucks not having the "Hub" channel), and the ep was great: got straight to the point, had that classic loony toon humor in it as usual, ending was brilliant. I also want to ask about something Iheard that's scaring me. Is it true that it's going to be two weeks before the next new ep comes on hub?
guys upload in 1080p
Also, something else related to all the craziness of the episode: Applejack reverse-eats an apple. Big Macindog! The only dog I would enjoy to have as a pet! I'm not really a dog person. At that part, I thought for just a minute she was going to go full Flutterage on us! That scene is where I thought she was going to make her first second season appearance for sure! Well, technically, this two-parter was supposed to be the season finale of season 1, when Luna still wasn't making any appearances. So in a way, it's not really too surprising. But I still hoped she would have been in this part of the season, regardless. I never expected the library in Ponyville would be what Discord meant when he said "Back where you began!" I mean, in a book? That threw me for a loop! Was that the same book that Twilight read in EoH part 2 about the Elements? (the one Pinkie Pie actually found? "It was under Eeeeeeeee!") I thought for sure they were going to go back to the castle of the royal pony sisters in the Everfree forest, where they defeated NMM, and find them there. Oh man, Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash shippers are going to have a field day with that line! Not that I'm complaining! Oh Celestia, BEST. REFERENCE. EVER! And what makes it more awesome? It was intentional, I believe! I'm not even a hardcore Star Wars fan and even I thought this was a pretty neat reference! Also, did any one spot Derpy in this same part? I did! Now my own thoughts on the episode: - We're the writers on something while listening to old Black Sabbath when writing this part? Trippy man! - Why were Discords hands making strange noises when he was clapping? - I got a bit choked up on two occasions: 1.) When Twilight was reading that one letter from Celestia. The flashbacks to past episodes just made it harder not to cry! 2.) When she was changing Applejack back to her old self while saying "You are not a liar!" Again, the flashbacks made it so hard not to bawl like a baby! One small thing I found cute about Twilight in this episode: When she screamed "GIVE ME THAT BOOK!", The way her voice cracks there is simply adorable! I'm a little disappointed that Discord did get the NMM treatment. Well, let's hope this isn't a permanent capture and he comes back for more chaos. Maybe not to the extent of these first two parts, maybe just screwing with Ponyville in very not-so-subtle ways. Another thing regarding all the crazy happenings going on: Did anyone take notice of that one silly purple pony during when Twilight was walking away all dejected? Well, at Ponychan, some people there came up with two possible (fanon) names for her: 1.) Topsy Turvy (the one I like the best) 2.) Screwball (Because, if you noticed, her cutie mark is a screw and a ball. Which reminds me of the old Bugs Bunny gag where some of the characters would hold up a sign with a picture of a screw and a ball) That's all I can think of for now.
This is exactly what I thought Luna's absence is just killing me Dx Overall, the episode had its moments with everypony and surely bring about some new gags, references, memes, etc. The ending had me thinking 'I just saw MLP FiM: The Movie'
