I agree with Yeti, for the most part. I also felt there coulda been less singing, but they also weren't too bad and if you look at the episode like a musical, then it makes much more sense. It definitely also felt rushed, but a lot of episodes do because of time constraints, so I can't hold that against them. The animation and art however, was superb as always. My feelings on Twilicorn aside - overall, I think a 3/5 is well deserved. They did an excellent job considering all they needed to do, it's just unfortunate circumstance that they had to work with that they did. Not the best episode I've seen, but not the worst certainly. Somewhere in the middle. Oh yeah, btw Yeti she wasn't an earth pony before the transformation, I thought that too but if you look close her horn is still there, it's just obscured by her hair.

I like that theory, or heres a better one, Celestia Tricked Star Swirl into it all, her master plan is to take over the Cosmic Council & rule all of creation, yeah thats right, i'm calling Celestia A Villain? Anyone that has a problem with that can take it up with my lawyer the mule! XD. Celestia uses people, the season 3 finale cemented that for me, she's a manipulative mastermind who needs to be usurped by either Twilight or Luna one! I know that will never happen in the actual show, but I hope we get some fan fics about it! *knock on wood*
Everything about this episode was dialed up to 11, including the heart. I don't know how the Season 3 doubters do it. My ONLY complaint: Yeah. I wanted to see Twilight struggle with her new wings a bit come season 4. Of course, as Rainbow Dash would be the first to point out, there's flying and there's flying. Twilight can still learn a lot from the more experienced pegasi.
Better than expected WoooHoooo. Also Derpy YEAHHHHHH. I said so before, I will only accept alicorn Twilight if Derpy makes a return in the same episode. I did not expect them to do just that, I am so happy. Hopefully that means that awful reddit rumour has been proven wrong. I really liked some of the songs. Especially the Celestia one ad that very sad one about Twilights small mistake. Rushed or not, this episode was very emotional. Hasbro, all is forgiven. (But I have my eye on you, don't try anything funny)
Oh my god, 100% this. I thoroughly enjoyed this finale. The songs were great, fresh, heartwarming and well written (yay Daniel). I clearly could see DHX trying incredibly hard to forge something good out of the bad Hasbro has created. And they made it well. I'm not really mad about Alicorn Twilight anymore. More interested really. I wonder if it will negatively impact the relationship her friends have or if they'll need to bow to her and stuff like that.
I like Poetic's rant, but the fact we can get so passionate about the show positively or negatively just shows the writers are doing their job! They have taken these little ponies, this little toyline made for little girls, and made it into something magical, something that can still make us feel, and in todays world, especially in entertainment media, thats rare, I love a lot of media, I'm a bit of a cynic you see, I truly believe story telling may be the only good quality we as humans have left, for all the good & bad we do, from the start we've always been story tellers, but today even most stories are cold, commercialized, compacted, made solely for profit. The fact the writers can take a show that like the rest is meant to be nothing but a corporate paycheck, and make it into something we care about, well, I think thats kinda special. One can only imagine what they have to put up with from Hasbro and others, the fact they can still make the show as good as it is, it shows they care, and even that is rare these days, so many series are made by people who don't care, who only see the project as a paycheck, but I feel for Meghan, Cindy & many of the others on the show its a chance for them to do something, to create a world anyone can go into and enjoy, sure some on the team may be in it for the cash, but I feel theres a decent amount of people on the show that genuinely care about the quality of the product they produce, I get the same feeling watching MLP that I got back in the day watching cartoons like Invader Zim, Megas XLR, & Samurai Jack, and that feels good. Yeah at the end of the day its just a silly little cartoon about colorful talking ponies, but its one with heart, something Lauren Faust made to give little girls and fans of animation in general something good to watch, something Meghan has tried her best to continue. MLP:FIM like any show will have its ups & downs, but I feel confident overall by the time all is said & done, it'll have been one heck of a fun ride! And heck, may be something we will be able to consider a Modern Classic like many do with Zim or Jack! *knock on wood!*
Wonderful! First of all I'd just like to say that this will be primarily my opinion on the 13th episode being primarily in song, and how I view it. I really like how they made this episode less of an episode but more of a big climax. Sure, I wouldn't have minded some more plot, but I think all of the music, which I really liked, seemed to bring the show to a good point where Season 4 can pick up from and show us what this truly means for Twilight - this is just the beginning. :')
I liked the episode, and I'm no "Doomsayer" or believing the fandom will end or whatnot. But at the very least I can understand the confusion/anxiety associated with this episode, because regardless of your opinion on the episode, we can all agree that the finale did not make it clear exactly where they were going with this.
Yeah, but considering it very well could have been a series finale ep, its understandable. As for season 4, I know it'll never happen..but epic pony war between the 4 princesses & their armys! XD On a more serious note I imagine Twilight will be used as an Ambassador or something like that.
Tara Strong has said multiple times that not only will Twilight not leave her friends, but that she will stay in Ponyville. Obviously, plenty remains to be seen, but I'd be surprised if they just up and ditched the rest of the Mane 6. Twilight wasn't the only money maker.
^That is a case and point. I've noticed that Rainbow Dash in particular has a LOT of devout fans. They all do, but for some reason I find RD fans to be the most prominent. That or I'm completely crazy. But even excluding Rainbow Dash, I noticed that all the others have large fan bases. Like, usually when you have large casts of main characters like this, one or two of them may be completely overshadowed by the appreciation of others. But with the Mane Six, even if RD might "Seem" more popular (At least to me. Again, I may be crazy), they are all popular enough not to steal thunder from each other. So yeah. Diamonds right, from both a "Story" and "Business" perspective, leaving the Mane Six out doesn't seem practical to me personally.
