"Usually I'm the one with the quill to sign stuff...oh well...guess I'm outdated now." Bolt sighed, burying his face in Lace's mane.
"No your not, you see how the mares stare at you especially in Cloudsdale. Your just not in your common realm." she nuzzled his ear. The manager came in and announced that the buyers are ready, "here we go!" She stepped down from Bolt's lap and walked out with Bolt in tow.
"I don't like any mare staring but you. Others make me go territorial and jerky to keep from being flirted with. Did you sell any stuff?" Bolt asked curiously
"I'm not sure yet, we still have to meet them first!" The cleared the hall and entered the gallery again, and Bolt could easily see the crowd of ponies gathered around Laces work.
"Depends on the highest bid." She giggled. She stood by her painting and listened to the chatter of the small crowd. An auction speaker stepped in front of the crowd and instantly began rattling off numbers.
That's when he got the letter. It fell in front of him. "What the buck..." He muttered, opening it. When he read the contents, he passed out. Rainbow Dash had been ambushed on a flight check of Ponyville. She succumbed to her injury and left him near everything she had. He fell to the ground, letter writing up in his hooves.
"Bolt!" Lace was at his side in a heart beat. She had no idea what to do, "Bolt?" She nudged his mane trying to get him back up. Photographers swarmed around them but security pushed them off. "Bolt please wake up"
"Oh then we need to get going?" Lace looked to the shocked crowd and waved goodbye. She told the announcer to send the check and she was off, following Bolt out the door.
"Hun, I'm more concerned about RD then the auction." She kissed the tear away and walked close to comfort him.
Lace paused but continued on, "i-i never knew you had another side." She watched the path below her as she walked.
"I've never been this hurt. Not since I met you. You took my problems and fixed them. This one was too big. I'll do everything for Dash...she taught me how to fly. She was like a sister to me..." Bolt remembered. "This is painful..." He admitted, voice cracking as he began to sob.
Lace felt her heart shatter, "I didn't know." Lace stopped him by wrapping her arms around him hugging him as tight as she could. "I'm so sorry" she said, her face buried in his chest.
