Well, Pinkie's on crack, as shown (episode 25) when she was on a crazy high, then was hit with depression. Also, she was tripping. Coincidence? I think not.
Well, all the voice actors for MLP:FiM are Canadians so I don't think it was intended as a swing at Canada. I have a hunch that the actor who did the voice for Snips (or was it Snails?) was intentionally emulating Bob&Doug McKenzie and the "eh" may have simply been an ad-lib. Besides, we Canadians can take a joke, eh?

I REEEAALLY dislike them, though that's probably because I tried playing the Adventures in Ponyville game. XP GODDANGIT YOU TWO, LEAVE THOSE APPLES ALONE, GO BUY YOUR OWN FOOD Reaaally ticked me off. A lot. I feel sorry for any actual little girls who play that game, as it will only give them more hate-fuel against boys. You know what? Nevermind. I feel sorry for the little boys who will be on the end of that detestation. In the actual show, they have really annoying personalities, and they look like idiots, probably to add more to "Remember little girls, boys are grody and you should hate them all with no second thoughts". Either way, not very pleasing traits in my opinion.
Aren't they just a joke on the nursery rhyme and the Powerpuff Girls? They're supposed to be bad, but as we know, not all guys are bad in the show. Namely, Braeburn, Chief Thunderhooves and Spike. I think that's everypony (and 2 of them aren't ponies, for that matter), since Blueblood is a jerk, the 3 ponies at flight camp are jerks, the diamond dogs are jerks... Season 2 better be good.
I don't know anything about a nursery rhyme regarding them and what they're based on. I do get the PPG reference, though. I'm not saying that all males in the series are bad, just that girls are already geared towards hating males from everything in life.
That nursery rhyme is the whole background story of PPG. Shame that I can't remember something as simple as that. Maybe it's because I never heard nursery rhymes in my childhood...
Aw, every good show needs a clown or two, and this is no exception! Hmm, I might be the only one, but - doesn't Snails' voice remind you of that of Marvin the Martian?
I haven't either. :U And I didn't know that, but then again, almost everything is obscurely based on other things, which are based on other things, which somehow always ties down to religion.
I use to hate them, especially back in Boast busters, but now I've grown to kinda like them. Maybe it's the hilarity of some of the things they do or something. I dunno.....
Snips and snails are hilarious and two of my favourite characters. I love the fact that they constantly get into trouble. That is what I like about them.
I'm having an internal conflict with myself...I have a 1 gb pony wallpaper folder... That I am too scared to even use. A part of me wants to come out of the stable 100%. But another part of me is too scared to because I'm worried that my friends won't approve, (I get teased sometimes by my sister too.)

They actually are more offensive than Derpy. Apparently, it's wrong for a girl to be a little ditzy but it's perfectly OK for boys to be plum stupid! I kinda feel sorry for them.
I liked them much better as Sunset Shimmer's bumbling henchmen in Equestria Girls than as a pair of... well, just plain stupid... ponies.
