(Sure) Bright lead them into a dangerous looking forest, making sure they did not deviate from the path before arriving at a small camp were several figures in the black Commando armor only without their helmets went about their usual tasks
The squad of ponies followed Bright into the camp to see multiple mares and stallions wearing the same armor that he was, knowing that this was a collective faction. With curiosity, they looked around at the camp to watch the Equestrians at work, fascinated how they've managed to adapt to the world around them. Still, the weapons they had arrived with miraculously turned to dust. They were unarmed and found themselves in a rough place. Still, their newest 'hoof-to-hoof' style of combat still made them some of the deadliest ponies in Equestria, Damien especially.
Soon, the ponies noticed the ponies Bright had in tow, asking things such as "Who are they?" "Why are they wearing that armor?" "Why did you bring them here?" but Bright silenced them with a stern gaze as he removed his helmet and hung it from a strap on his saddlebags, revealing a fairly clean cut and well cleaned light blue mane with streaks of navy blue, completing the look of the colors of a sunrise, and the quieting showed he was the one in charge of at least this particular camp, "Beta squad, meet Damien, Ashley, Rodger, Benedict, and Jack. They call themselves the "MOCKINGBIRDS". Meet Beta squad. I am their commander. However, we are just a branch of the collective Commando army, and the second best of all the squads. However, we shall need to either hold the introductions...grr...Radio where are you!" A unicorn mare came running out of a tent, helmet on a bit crooked, "Uhh, yes sir?" "I need you to send a message to the command sight, specifically the Soldier, we have guests he needs to see!" "Yes sir!" the mare then went running back into her tent "Radio's our communications officer, sadly she's a fresh transfer from Delta squad, not quite adapted to Beta yet." he then showed them through the crowd of about 40 ponies, the 10 others of beta squad too busy to come check out the new ponies, "This is the Everfree forest around us, the Soldier may be in charge of the place and its wildlife, but there are deathdogs all around, those things will dig up underneath you and before you know it, they've popped and sliced your head off, their claws don't know the difference between power armor and butter, goes through all the same." he paused a bit, "So uh, just stick to the paths and you'll be fine." he then spun around, "Before I go any further; you need to know some rules. Rule number one, don't try to take anything. We keep tech that would be far, far too dangerous let out in the wastes. If I'm making you think of Steel Rangers of that "Brotherhood of Steel", just stop right there. The stuff we keep, it isn't just anything that shoots a laser or anything, this is stuff that could kill you be hitting you in the flank. And the last thing the Wastes need are those sort of weapons in the hooves of raiders. Rule number 2; don't do anything that isn't in self defense. If you attack a Commando, we WILL kill you, Rule 3, well, just treat us like you would any other town, only its a town of highly trained warrior mercenaries."
Ashley nodded in response "Way ahead of you" The other MOCKINGBIRDS stood together in a line, now fairly accustomed to their new bodies after managing to walk to the Everfree. They didn't know how to use their abilities, such as magic or flight just yet. Benedict, being an enormous earth pony, didn't complain in the slightest. Benedict, as he did in his human form, stood multiple heads higher than the rest of the MOCKINGBIRDS and that now since he was in his pony form, he felt his strength multiply quite dramatically. He had an enormous christian chain around his neck made out of stainless steel that he wore proudly. The almost fanatical catholic spec-ops solider smiled at the thought. "Nice looking place" Roger remarked about the camp they stood in before he decided to ask a question to Bright. "You have mentioned that everybody here are highly trained mercenaries, what is training like? We had to undergo quite an extensive training program ourselves. Most of us were trained when we were about 16 onwards, Ashley was about 12 when she started. But Damien, well....he's been trained since he was born in essentially super hu-...pony training."
"We recieve training that varies depending on what we're skilled at, but really, our training never ends. When we aren't on missions, we're training. Expeditions into the Everfree, one or two have been sent to Canterlot and they somehow survived, recon training to Maripony, another surprising survival. But, I'ld say our training rivals that of the Steel Rangers, who train since they were born." Bright responded, "But in the end, it is based off of the training of our Pre-War predecessors, who were the elite of elite special forces of Equestria, nearly took down the zebra by themselves." he continued proudly. "Sir! Soldier is on his way, apparently he's bringing Bloody 2 and a few high ranking Alpha squaders with him!" Radio suddenly annouced "What's his ETA?" "10 minutes!" "Good. Well, y'all are quite the lucky bunch, you get to meet our leader. And don't ask him for his real name, no one knows it except himself. And don't ask about his scar, quite a painful memory for him from what I understand. Something about a contract gone wrong is all I know." Bright told them.
"You're exactly like us then. When we're not training, we're sent by the Republic to deal with the Brotherhood or anything of importance." Damien replied. "We were the very best special forces in the planet, all of us are considered meta-hu *cough* meta-ponies. We've survived a whole bunch of crazy stuff that should have killed anyone else multiple times over. Training never stops until we're dead." He then turned to the rest of the MOCKINGBIRDs and looked at them. "Alright, we're going to meet their leader. Be polite if he speaks to you"
Some time later, a dark brown stallion with a scar going from his right eye to the edge of his mouth and a fairly neutral, yet intimidating expression on his face. Next to him was a light blue pegasus mare who had her visor down, so her eyes couldn't be seen, and behind the two, 6 Heavy Commandos trotted behind them, their armor looking like black versions of a ponified T-51B Power armor set. They were all marching in perfect sync before coming to a stop in front of the MOCKINGBIRDS "First; congratulations on a successful mission Dagger. Your Alpha squad intiation will be next week." The brown stallion said to Bright, sounding almost like he didn't care to anypony who didn't know him, but those who did knew that he was proud, he always was when a Commando did their job perfectly, "And I am going to guess these are the strangers you told me about?" "Yes sir." Bright said, saluting the Soldier, "They say they come from a group called the "Rangers" in a place we don't know of, and their squad is named the MOCKINGBIRDS. But I'm sure they can tell you a lot more that I can." The Soldier nodded, instantly deciminating what he was told, "You're not of this world, and judging from the way you're standing, you aren't used to pony bodies, meaning you usually aren't ponies." He said simply, "Well, then welcome to our world, I am the Soldier, I am the great-grandson of Dark Light, the original founder of the Commandos, and I am their refounder." He told them.
"I'm Damien Winters, commander of the MOCKINGBIRD squadron of the New California Republic Ranger Special-Forces division. From left to right are Ashley, Rodger, Benedict and Jack. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Solider." Damien replied formally, not really caring much about any unnecessary information about his world. " We are born warriors, but we were officially organized into our current state sixteen years ago by our former commander, Edward, who passed away several years ago. He was ghoul who is at least 275 years old who unfortunately entered the early stages of going Feral, so there might be Ghoul-ponies in this world as well. " "We had no idea how we arrived onto this world. We haven't seen Damien for at least four years, so this is a first for us in a while. We were sleeping in our quarters until we suddenly felt a sudden pain as if we were electrocuted, then we woke up as ponies here." Ashley replied before Damien looked at her. "I was in Utah in the middle of the night, then all of a sudden I blacked out while a pink light suddenly came over me. Then...I'm here."
(You know, honestly, if anything the FoE world is a lot more dangerous than the regular Fallout world) "First; we do have ghouls, in fact, there are ghoulsbin Alpha squad who were members of the original Commandos themselves, though they aren't.. normal ghouls. Much lower rate of feral-ity, voice isn't nearly as gravelly, that sort of thing." The Soldier told Damien before saying, "And I have no idea what "Utah" is. Anyways, you shouls come with me so you can tell me more about your world, and we'll see if there's any way you can get back home." He said
(Another time-skip? Also, I need to do some work experience soon so I wont be able to post again for a long time, but I'll try and post as often as I can. I'm sure that I'll post again at about 4:30 or 5:00 pm, so about 2 in the morning for you then
(Okay) 1 month later, two and a half weeks before Littlepip leaving Stable 2 The group of Rangers spent a few weeks getting accustomed to their new bodies and were soon able to not only move like normal ponies, but moved almost as if they were back in their human bodies. Ashley and Jack learnt how to fly while Roger and Damien seemed to adapt to unicorn magic very quickly. Benedict did however, preferred his newfound strength instead of having abilities like those, being tough and sturdy as an absolutely enormous earthpony. After mastering their new bodies, all five of them then began training with the Commandos. And boy, they certainly didn’t disappoint.... During their first Commando training session, they proved to be much more than a mere group of soldiers. While the MOCKINGBIRD training routine placed the operatives at absolute peak human conditions, some exercises seemed to almost be easy to them. Jack, with his wings restricted, managed to absolutely destroy the fittest of Commandos in a 100meter sprint, breaking long lasting records by several seconds in the progress. Ashley performed flips and agile movements gracefully almost like an Olympic gymnast, while carrying a weight restriction on her back. Benedict ran around the Everfree during a morning jog carrying almost four times his body weight and keeping up with relative ease. Roger managed to practise with several throwing knives, and hit a bullseye almost everytime except once when the wind caused a knife to wonder inches from the target. But what seemed to impress the Commandos the most was when a member of the prestigious Alpha Squad challenged Damien in a supervised hoof-to-hoof fight. The original fight ended in less than two seconds when Damien dropped the elite Commando to the ground almost instantly. What started as a one on one fight quickly turned into five against one. Not only did this fight quickly draw a crowd of other Commandos, but the fight went onwards for nine rounds. The Mokaran grandmaster not only defeated the five members of Alpha Squad, but completely embarrassed them in doing so. After the fights, one lower level Commando asked how he learned how to fight in such a way, Damien only remarked that he took a “Bull by the horns”. By the end of the day, the MOCKINGBIRDS got together and told stories about their own world. Everything from what Edward used to tell them about the pre-war world, the many many missions they had been sent on, the unfortunate sacrifice at Six Rivers and everything that has happened right up until they found themselves in the Equestrian wasteland.
Julion, however impressed with the MOCKINGBIRDS performence in sparring, he was far more concerned in the increasing activity of slavers. Some where getting brave enough to try to even ambush Commando observation posts at the edge of the forest trying to capture Commandos. And they have increasingly noticed unicorns becoming ever more present in freed slaver caravans, which meant Red eye wanted them for whatever reason. They also seemed increasingly interested in securing advanced tech, especially Mark co tech. Something he couldn't allow.
During their off-time, all five MOCKINGBIRDS learn't more about the world around them and were surprised about the similarities and differences around them. Nonetheless, all of them concluded that this world was more dangerous than their own. With magic appearing into this world, so did it's role as a game changer for the wastelands. Training would again soon, but all of them were concerned about the huge slaver presence in this world, and how surprisingly unified they are upon this "Red Eye" holding the leash onto them and an entire city of slaves. They seen this all before back in their own world in 2265 during the Siege of Sac-Town, the ten day nightmare. Whatever would happen to them, they all wanted to help. They couldn't leave this world and sleep at night knowing that this world had slid further into hell Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Julion suddenly popped his head up as his PipBuck pinged on him, looking at it he saw that finally a file had be decrypted after months of decrypting. "Lets see..." he opened the file and read through it then realized it had something important inside, "Equestria Prim- Oh my goddesses...It's inside the...Goddesses damn it, the Manehatten Arms Research and Development Wing..."
The MOCKINGBIRDS, while not having access to Commando weaponry, improved with fairly surprising skill. While not being granted access into the armory just yet, the ponies decided to create some fairly makeshift weaponry, including a knife tied onto a spear and a bomb created out of a toaster. Their favorite was Ballistic Hooves made out of a bear trap. Benedict missed his mini gun, salvaged from a military aircraft guns. It weighed at least nearly 250 pounds when fully loaded and solved 6,000 problems a minute. Now that he didn't have it, the number of problems he could solve now were considerably less.
Julion sat as he thought about how he would get into the ARDB facility. He needed a way to break theough the biometric security system that guarded every Mark Co facility..
The MOCKINGBIRDS entered another training session, but this one was entirely hoof-to-hoof combat due to the display that Damien demonstrated with his humiliation of Alpha Squad. Each of them took turns to fight, and all of them won every single battle they came across. Benedict overpowered seven Commandos in one fight, applying some serious damage while not risking to harm them entirely. Ashley's speed seemed to help her escape complex holds, but inevitably defeated all of them. Jack and Roger decided to face each other instead of other commandos, displaying some of their attacks and defenses to some of the younger troops. While Damien, after defeating five members of Alpha Squad, decided to fight five members made up from Beta and Alpha Squad. Blindfolded.
(Sorry, I can't think of anything. But I kinda thought of something; training Commandos in hoof-to-hoof combat is something entirely new for them. Their hoof to hoof training is focused on disarm and getting into a position where you,csn use your rifle or pistol, not beating the opponent until they give up)
(It's alright. Standard MOCKINGBIRD martial arts are based around a system of combined combat techniques which allow rapid alternation between armed and hand-to-hand combat. Disarming is also one important feature, and this form of combat is based around Krav Maga and CQC. Damien's Mokara however, is heavily based around Wing Chun that is not only graceful and spectacular to watch, alongside being fairly easy to learn yet difficult to master, but is absolutely brutal in combat.)
