Littlepip paused, she didn't really have a plan, all she had was the job Homage offered her; going to Fillydelphia to get the SPP tower working so that she could bring DJ Pon3's eye to overlook that place that has been in blackout for so long. The little pony in her head yelled at her for being so stupid, that she wasn't who these ponies thought she was, all because Homage put her on a pedastel everytime she talked about her as the "Stable Dweller" on air. She quickly thought of something, "Well...I did save an entire settlement by accident from a mad scientist who was trying to create a Taint cure and was the source of the problem behind the Manticore problem in Manehatten, mostly by accident while I was getting some new tunes for DJ-Pon3 in return for some information..." she said to answer the "recent acts" question, "And uh...plans for the future...Well I can't tell you because it might jeopordize the mission." She told Damien confidently, hoping Snow wouldnt pick up on her true feelings of being lost.
Damien raised an eyebrow at Littlepip for a moment as he raised his hoof, just as the rainbow lightning cracked around it for a second before looking over at Littlepip. She might be charismatic, but Damien guessed she was trying to hide the fact that the mare was just as lost as they were. Not looking for an argument, the former human decided to go along with the show. "I understand, you don't want anything clouding your mind when your on a mission." Damien said. "I perform what I believe is right, although sometimes doing the right thing involves plenty of bad things as well. To fight for a cause that you believe in, it's something I was raised by. It was this that made me who I was in what father called the five virtues of the wasteland. He was a former tribal and whenever he made me train to become the ultimate warrior like he was, he often drilled five words into my head. 'Perseverance','Innocence', 'Hope', 'Compassion' and finally, 'Sacrifice'. While I'm honestly not as much as he was, he believed in these virtues with all his body and soul. He believed that every pers-....pony on the planet would experience a virtue at some stage in their life until their death. I felt perseverance when I fought the Enclave when I was 15, Innocence as a younger child who had to make his first kill, Hope during the time I fought against the Legion in my world, Compassion from my father and my village who cared for me and for me as well tending to those less fortunate than me." "But Sacrifice? I've felt it plenty of times, 'Stable Dweller'. My mentor, Edward who sacrificed himself to save the lives of me and my companions. The sacrifices that I had to make when I found myself at impossible decisions during missions, the sacrifice I made when I gave up everything to pursue a better life. But..." Damien said sadly before taking out a locket from under his armor and opening it up to reveal the photo of Damien in his human form, standing next to another human woman with short brown hair and emerald green eyes, who had the largest smile on her face as the couple held hands. On their wedding day. "This was the ultimate sacrifice that has ever affected me, including my greatest regret. The night she was murdered by Legionary Assassins, she was four months pregnant. I drunk heavily after her death because I felt like I was the one responsible for killing her. This sacrifice, the one we both made together when I took her place for being convicted of her murder, has changed me for the rest of my life." Damien said before taking the photo away and looking at Littlepip. "I'm saying this because you remind me of myself when I was about your age. Being lost in direction but wanting to make the world a better place. You might have experienced most of these virtues already, but it's impossible to know when they will occur. You have inspired hope to the ponies who have barely been able to survive in a cruel world. You show perseverance through never giving up when the world seems like it wants to kill you. Your innocence and your compassion also has a wider range of effect than you think. But when it comes to sacrifice, the look in your eyes tells me that you've already made these decisions throughout your entire life. I'm not going to go any further than that because I can't predict the future, but I can tell that at somepoint in your life, you are going to make a sacrifice like I did. Don't let this discourage you, it could happen now or it could happen on your death bed. All I'm saying is to continue being the mare you wish to be and one day, maybe one day, you might change the world." Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Snow watched quietly as Damien reassured Littlepip, but she didnt know what else to add herself, she didnt even really know what she was doing.
Littlepip tried to hide her emotions from Damien, trying to keep a straight face and act natural. Ultimately , Damien got the better of her as a small gear came out of her eye as she got out of her chair and suddenly hugged the stallion. Damien wasn't surprised that his words affected her, but the sudden act was enough to put a smile on Damien's face just as Littlepip burst into tears on his shoulder. Snow giggled slightly as Littlepip hugged Damien and soon had Homage gently rubbing her back to make her feel more comfortable and calm her down.
While Littlepip calmed down, she still was crying her eyes out. She looked up at Damien and Snow before wiping her tears away and tried to blow her nose. "Why don't you travel with us?" Littlepip asked. "We would, I'm afraid we already have a big group of our own. If we joined you and your companions, we would only slow you down." Damien replied "Oh.....ok" Littlepip sadly responded Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
(Oh, have you seen Eluuna's new RP?) Snow nodded sadly, "Yea, there's,already 6 in our group." Littlepip responded with an understanding nod and sat back down, trying to get a grip of herself, "Well..I'm glad you two found your way here." She said to them. Snow nodded in thanks before about to get up to leave when a thought crossed her mind, "Oh...A litle bit of bad news, the Commandos...well...they have Equestria Prime, a massive mech meant originally to break through the defensive lines of the Zebra capital...meaning short of a megaspell, they have the most powerful weapon in the world."
(Nope, not yet. I will soon) Homage held her head in disbelief. "As much as I would say this is a bad thing I've had dealings with them before and they seem to be the lighter shade of gray in the wasteland. They hold leverage over the whole wasteland now, so that leaves almost everypony in Equestria at ransom. What I would like to know is how this would play out in the long-run."
Snow nodded, "As long as they don't find a way to hack into its systems and override the "Self-defense" sequence I set it to, it won't attack anypony that doesnt attack it. Or if they find the cockpit built-in to override the automated system." She said to encourage them, "And Mark Co systems are extremely hard to hack."
"That's a relief. We don't want something like that running rampant around the wastes after all." Homage said. "Well, at least it's been much quieter around here than when the Commandos decided to find their latest weapon. Red Eye basically retreated from the city, Raiders are virtually non-existent and the Steel Rangers won't be doing anything for a while. We've also got a visit from a Federation supply caravan yesterday, so we plenty of new supplies."
"I don't think we have anything else." Damien got up from his chair and looked at the two mares, bowing towards them before looking at Snow. "Shall we go?"
With that, Snow and Damien left the room and went back down the elevator to spend the rest of their time at Tenpony with the other MOCKINGBIRDS. Once everything was set up, including the room and other necessary details, the group relaxed for the next few days in peace and in pre-war luxury.
(I think we need one.) 3 months later The Equestrian Wasteland. A hellish wasteland where ponies barely make it through their daily lives was soon going to enter a war that would ultimately decide its fate. A land of horrors dotted by the ruins of civilization, where society ranged from law abiding citizens and trustworthy and honest ponies to vicious raider gangs that were reduced to nothing more than rabid animals to slavers and generally nasty inhabitants of the land. While there could be dozens, if not hundreds of factions that try to survive in this new world that ranged from small homes or organizations to entire countries and empires, several of them fit the bill for the domination of the Equestrian Wasteland. In one corner was Red Eye, the self-proclaimed slave master of Equestria and leader of a vast army of slavers that dominated the city of Fillydelphia with an iron hoof. While numerically being the largest out of all of the forces wanting domination of Equestria, the high majority of the army lack the experience that any other faction has. Alongside his enormous army is an enormous collection of slaves that work until they are disposed of once they have no use. The Steel Rangers, the last remaining members of the Ministry of Wartime Technology with an obsession of pre-war technology. The independent and newly formed Applejack's Rangers, a faction that had split apart from the xenophobic Steel Rangers, quickly established itself as a power in the Wasteland. What they lack in numbers, they make up for in technology and scientific knowledge and are more than a threat to Red Eye. The Commandos, who despite not wanting a serious role in the conflict, would be forced to fight for its survival. Not only are they one of two of the most technologically and deadliest factions in the wastes, but their brutal training far surpasses the Steel Rangers and Red Eye’s army. Armed with Mark.Co technology and now using Equestria Prime, the Commandos are almost undefeatable. Like the Rangers, what they lacked in numbers they made up for in tech, but also has training. The Federation of Las Pegasus. A sleeping giant in the Equestrian wastes. By avoiding armed conflicts whenever possible for the past 200 years and focusing instead on education, healthcare, manufacturing and technological development, the Fed’s now enjoys the highest standard of living in the post-war world. While generally a peaceful nation, it does have an attitude towards protecting itself whenever it’s attacked or invaded with the civilian population undergoing some combat training in their lives. While the military is smaller than Red Eye’s army, the training procedures used by the Federation makes a standard private as skilled as a pre-war sergeant. And then there were the infamous special forces, The impossibly deadly Guardians. With a large standing force and ridiculously advanced technological advances since the Great War, it has no interest in the affairs of those outside its territory other than relief caravans. If the Federation was to attack an opposing faction, it would only do so in self defence. Regardless of the coming events, it would remain neutral unless provoked. Finally, the final force and a serious threat to anypony in the wasteland was the Grand Pegasus Enclave. While believing that they were ‘apparently’ the most technologically advanced faction in the Equestrian Wasteland, They take pride in being the only "pure" race of ponies left after the war and are made up exclusively of Pegasi. Within the next two days, the wasteland would unfortunately see the Enclave declare Operation Cauterize where they proclaim they are coming to save Equestria. Whatever the result would be in the end, it will ultimately change Equestria either for the better or worse. (Federation involvement in the story will still be extremely small because I'm keeping with canon. No army outside of the Federation itself will be fighting, and the Federation only really had one serious battle against the Enclave that was the 'Battle of Las Pegasus' which basically turned out the way that Texas obliterated the Confederacy in the last RP.)
(Well, I doubt it would have been that bad, remember, Enclave is highly trained, highly advanced, and they have at least some actual combat exprience because Calamity brings up how the Enclave recently fought a war to take over the skies of the Griffon kingdom. A win for the Federation yes, but it was like phyrllic, especially in civilian casualties) Julion sat quietly in the Sky Bandit, looking around at the ponies he had been forced to accompany for the past couple months, still feeling urked by the fact that the mighty Soldier had been forced to travel with his worst enemy, personally at least anyways. They were headed to Stable 2, his and Littlepip's former home. It was apparently under attack fron Steel Rangers, and now, it was one of the few things keeping him in this rag-tag group. They had stopped to get weapons and armor for Calamity from a place called the Rock of Destiny, where Da****es would leave behind things that reminded them of their time in the Enclave. Now...they were preparing for battle
(Pyrrhic yes. The Federation lost a huge chunk of it's territory and about most of it's total population (About 40,000 to a population of about 300,000) were killed by the Enclave, mostly in towns within the territory and the high majority of them were civilians. The Enclave attacking force was enormous as well, about the size that attacked Red Eye. When the Enclave came down from the clouds towards the Federation, the towns close to the border sacrificed themselves to alert the military. While the civilians still put up a fight, they were soon overwhelmed and were being executed by Enclave officials. By the time the Enclave met the military, they began to quickly suffer losses. When the Enclave made it to Las Pegasus after getting decimated in prior battles, the Enclave fleet itself was annihilated until Enclave soldiers finally got over the wall that the real heavy fighting began on the streets. While the Federation won, it was a hollow victory.) All hell was about to break lose in the Equestrian Wasteland. The Enclave were coming down from the sky in total force, multiple fleets and tens of thousands of Enclave soldiers setting their sights to reclaim the wasteland below them. (Sorry for short post, super busy atm)
(It's okay) Julion blinked and shook his head as he got shakingly up to his hooves, the Sky Bandit had been batted out of the sky by a mutated Ursa Major that was virtually invisible to the naked eye. He shook his head as his eyes rang from the explosion of the Sky Bandit, before making sure his "companions" were okay, well, besides Calamity, before they turned their attention to the Ursa
Damien and the rest of the Mockingbirds spent the last three months traveling the wasteland while trying to get their human forms back. They almost made it back to human at one point, but it ultimately failed. Alongside this, the world was going to hell and the Mockingbirds insisted to fight to save the world they've come to love. Earth could come later, it was Equestria that currently needed the help. The Sky Fleet of the Grand Pegasus Enclave, an enormous armada of the Enclave came down from the skies in an ominous way, slowing sinking below the cloud cover and sounding nothing but despair. While some ships went East towards Fillydelphia, the others went to the northwest towards the Federation. The Enclave hijacked all radio stations in Equestria and sent out several small messages. "Greetings, citizens of the Equestrian Wasteland. This is the Grand Pegasus Enclave. We have commandeered this broadcast to deliver an important message to all ponies. Do not be afraid, we are here to save you!"
