(sure, we did one in my area. Lets say China bombed Australia because of its traditionally close relationship with Washington, and I doubt Australia would have looked too good then as with most of the world with trade being non-existant and the only countries with viable, miniaturized nuclear reactors was the US and somewhat China)

(Yeah, I was thinking something along the lines of that. I don't really see the damages in Australia being as bad as America, I only see around three or four cities getting destroyed, those three being the three largest cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) and maybe Perth. Adelaide wouldn't really get hit, but I can imagine that it would have been absolute chaos afterwards and the entire city would have been destroyed by riots regardless. Trade would also be non-existent in Australia, the government would have collapsed and the slate would be wiped clean. I'll edit in my first post soon, and it's going to be a long one. Also, today was my last day of 12th grade :D)

The Great War brought a fiery conclusion to the end of a bygone era and to the end of former human civilization. The details are trivial and pointless, but the new world that came out of the ruins of the old world was violent, chaotic and hopeless. Entire countries were drowned in the flames of ruin, despair, and war. It was always war. Every country was on the brink of collapse prior to the great event, smaller ones collapsing much faster than other ones. Europe exists in an endless period of civil war where life barely exists; The Middle East has become the cradle of faith and extremism, old world virtues never leaving the hearts of those who fight one another in the wastes. Nobody knew what happened to China, but as the former superpower was the hardest hit country during the two hour period in which the gates of hell were unleashed, the expected result wasn’t pretty.

But what about Australia? Australia wasn’t directly involved in the nuclear holocaust, but was targeted as a threat regardless by China. During the Resource Wars, Australia seen a level of growth unlike anything any country in the world has ever seen. Australia held almost a quarter of the world’s uranium resources along with an enormous amount of materials that were desperately sought after by the countries of the world. Since the Resource Wars began in 2052 until 2077, Australia’s became the wealthiest country in the world by an enormous margin while other countries simply collapsed, possessing even more capital than the American economy at one point. Australia used their new found riches to grow at a rate that put Cold-War era Soviet Russia to shame. Medicine, Technology, Architecture, all of these and so much more turned Pre-War Australia to a major figure in global politics. However, none of these factors was as important as the military, and with its newly found power, was raised significantly.

With China being the major threat in Asia, Australia’s independence was put at risk. While always having close relations to America, the two countries supported each other when they needed. But when the war came, all of the defences and military power of the country couldn’t stop the war from reaching them. Australia, like every over country in the world, was hit in the Great War, although it’s damages were significantly less in comparison to China and America. Each large Australian city received at least one hostile warhead, the largest one being a 550kt warhead detonated above Sydney Harbor. The East Coast and Perth were destroyed during the war, although some cities were only partially destroyed, isolated cities or towns even being untouched.

Adelaide was one of these cities that was not hit during the nuclear exchange, although rioting and wildfires from Victoria destroyed a large portion of the city. Adelaide, being much smaller than the other cities of Australia, survived. Although, this survival was at a cost. As much of the fires in the surrounding areas burnt areas of the city, survival became at the utmost concern.

By the second half of the 23rd century, society has become radically different. The entire Adelaide CBD barricaded themselves inside of a colossal wall, where only the wealthy or worthy survive while the areas around them wallow in poverty. The Southern Suburbs, full of large raider gangs and even slavers always fight against each other for control. Plenty of towns in the Barossa Valley and beyond became fully fledged settlements, with the former town of Gawler being the “Bridge” of Adelaide and the Barossa and became its trade hub. The Northern Suburbs, although some settlements are dotted between the city and Gawler, became an endless warzone.

(Going for a New Vegas feel for this, especially with the CBD essentially becoming an enormous area of what would be The Strip.)

(Well, I would say trade would be nonexistent, so Australia couldnt have gotten rich on it, remember, the last oil in the world was controlled by the US and they weren't sharing. So Australia likely could only trade in their local neighborhood. I'm basically saying that I doubt see how Australia could have been so successful, especially with the comparatively small populace to the US and China. Remember, in the canon it states that virtually every country but the US and China was in disarray. Then even if they did get by with limited nuclear strikes, there would sill be the problem of nuclear winter, which happened worldwide.)

(Ah,ok. Let's make it that Australia was on the brink of collapse like everybody else and was only partially hit during the war)

(I was thinking more along the lines of a regional power, like still in better shape than the rest in the area, but not like China and the US, and the thing that really kills Australia is the nuclear winter)

(Australia gets destroyed in the Nuclear Winter, but is still one of the luckier countries to survive. However, the already dangerous wildlife would likely be much worse. I also like to think that the outback is full of Raiders in a Mad Max sort of style.)

(Alright. Oh, and just so ya know, it's just a group of 5 squads, 2 Riigula, 2 Magniitium, 1 Elatian who have taken over a building near the Arlington library a little to the west. They chose it because the car park had already been foritified by raiders, the car lot was elevated so could only be attacked from one side, and the building was the tallest in the area, and its right next to the Metro, making patrols to other parts of DC much easier)

Taylor Bowman, known across the wasteland as the 'Lone Wanderer', was exploring the Capitol Wasteland, a place formerly known as Washington DC. It was the pre-war Capitol of what used to be the United States, and because of this, the city was hit much harder then plenty of other cities. The city had become a war-zone since then, with a rogue faction of the Brotherhood of Steel dedicated to helping the wastelanders were fighting against the Super Mutant threat, alongside other obstacles including raiders, slavers and all sorts of nasty things.

(let's say for time scale, this is after Megaton and Taylor is working on the Wasteland Survival Guide, right before the part about the library in Arlington, but what's she's done along the way has gotten her fame)

Jonathan Hemmar sat at a hidden campsite he made on top of a hill in a small hole in a large rock outcropping listening to the radio he always had with him. He had always been a techfreak, as given to his love for energy weapons and regular technology. With him was a small robot he built from the scraps of a Protectron he disabled keeping an eye out for any approaching animals or people as he listened intently to his radio, hoping he had finally gotten the amplifier powerful enough to finally be able to listen to Galaxy News Radio, after a few tense moments, Three Dogs voice came pouring out, "-uice, it's...the news. Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Now Three Dog, if you're going to tell us again about the Lone Wanderer, just get it over with so I can know if I'm going to get eaten by super mutants or not!" Well, this one is not about that gal from Vault 101, this one is about a new faction that has popped up seeming overnight. Last week, according to a friend over at the Brotherhood of Steel, they have moved in to an area by the Arlington library. Not much is known about them other than reports of pristine armor and weapons, they are extremely deadly, but small in number. Confirmed about, oh, 40 or so? And don't worry, these guys won't attack you, unless you pull a weapon on them. You have been warned. Now! For one of my...All time favorites. "
Jonathen pursed his lips, "Very strange sounding... Nothing like the few Enclave guys I've seen, but...strange none the less..."

Sometimes Moria Brown seemed way to friendly, sending her to do all sorts of things that would get anybody else killed. There was a good reward out of these sort of things, and it paid surprisingly well. Taylor decided to add some of her own information into the book, being the egghead that she was.

She had short brown hair and wore a Merc Veteran outfit, with beautiful hazel coloured eyes. She was intelligent as she was beautiful, although she was also incredibly young and had little experience with the outside world. A Laser Rifle on her back with an added scope proved to be surprisingly powerful and with her affinity for energy weapons and technology in general, was quite deadly.

Although she is self-taught, she is a surprisingly well trained. She has proved on more then one occasion that she is more then enough to mow down anything she came across, although she had a tendency to get outnumbered.

(Let's say level wise, she's around 15, since I did the Survival Guide at that level.)

Jonathen's bot suddenly beeped at him and started bouncing on its small spring. The thing may have looked like a mini-sentry bot, but it could act cute, but in this case, he wasn't adored by it, he was concerned. Crawling up next to it, he grabbed it and lightly patted its head to get it to stop as he looked out to the Wasteland. His eyes widened in surprise. A Deathclaw had sat itself right on top of the hill, it's back to him. Very quietly, Jonathen crawled back into his little pit and grabbed just the right weapon, a laser rifle he modified to spit a line instead of a beam. Crawling back up, he propped his gun on the ground, took aim just as the Deathclaw turned and noticed him, about to roar.
    BBZZ!
The body comically stayed in position for a bit, the head hitting the ground before the body finally followed. Breathing a sigh of relief, he holstered the gun and gathered his things, setting his little bot on his shoulder. His camp was compromised, so he had to move. Then it started bouncing again. Rolling his eyes, he whispered to the bot, "That's enough Pop, you and I both know outside of Ol Olney Deathclaws don't travel in grou-" he was cut off by the sight of a women running along the base of the hill who looked to be about his age. Getting behind cover, he slid his normal rifle out and propped it up on the rock, staying hidden as he trailed the women with his rifle, making sure she didnt come towards him.

(By the way, Jonathan has high intelligence, high strength, and good endurance, but pretty bad charisma, like about a 2 or 3)
