(I would say that Taylor has her intelligence maxed along with a high perception and above average endurance. Everything else would be average.) Taylor noticed the dead Deathclaw slumped over nearby. The thing looked like it had been recently killed, maybe no more then ten minutes or even shorter. She took a long time to survey her surroundings before ultimately heading back on her way. She was fairly close to the city now, which now caused her to be on edge. DC might be a warzone, but Super Mutants could come from literally anywhere. She began to walk off to the east and was soon off in the distance
After the women was out of eyesight, Jonathan got an idea from the direction she was walking, "Hey Pop, didn't Three Dog say there was some new faction by the Arlington Library? How about we go check them out, see if we can't find anything out about them?" Pop responded in a series of beeps to which Jonathan responded by chuckling and walking off in the direction of the Arlington Library
Taylor arrived at the Arlington Library after an hour or so, immediately noticing that the entire library was a major source of information to the Brotherhood of Steel. Luckily for them, they haven't provoked the newest faction that called an area around eight hundred meters away home. The library was being guarded by the Brotherhood, with two Knight's in power armor just outside of the door. Upon recognizing her, the two Knight's immediately let her inside.
Jonathen arrived just as a large raider force launched a three pronged attack on the base of the new faction. Watching from afar as he saw two groups of about 20 each attack the two entrances to the base (a "main gate" sort of thing and the pedestrian walkover thingy). But almost immediately, they were mowed down in a hail of laser fire. The "assault" lasted less than 5 seconds. "Good Lord..." he muttered
The display of power was enough to make the Brotherhood think of what possibilities their tech could hold. On one hand, launching an attack would end up to be suicidal. But on the other hand, the newer faction are dangerously outnumbered. And if the Brotherhood won and acquired this technology.... Taylor knew the Brotherhood were planning something, and she didn't care about it nor did she want to be involved. It was their problem, not hers. If the Brotherhood went along with this, they would only be hurting themselves. She decided to focus on the task at hand and conduct her research on the Library.
Jonathan crept closer to the base, and his ear picked up a definitely foreign language, one he had never heard before, then he looked up as his eyes noticed the tall radio tower being built in the middle of the car park. That must be their comm tower, before he turned his attention back down. He could see that the walls looked like they were built by the raiders, but reinforced with metal and lots of barbed wire, and in a corner he could slightly see inside the base to see that there were car stacks behind and covered in sandbags, "That must be their blast reinforcement..." He muttered, "So no one will be blasting their way in."
With the raiders around the walls of the new faction and those in the upper areas of the library dead, Taylor hacked into the mainframe and got all the information she needed to complete the newest chapter of the survival guide. With herself pleased with what she had accomplished, she went back out the door and took a moment to relax with her findings before taking the long trip back to Megaton
As Jonathan studied the walls, he noticed just why they were able to kill the assault so quickly. He could count at least 15 snipers on the wall, 3 more on the pedestrian walkway serving to help maintain control of access of the road directly by the bridge, plus 5 soldiers standing on the entrance to the pedestrian overpass guarded by sandbags with what looked like an assault rifle. "Noted; they are crack shots, well equipped soldiers who have rifles that look normal but spit some kind of energy." He muttered before getting a sneaky suspicion someone was behind him. When he turned around, he saw 4 soldiers staring at him angrily, pointing their rifles at him, their faces half covered by respirators, the rest by their helmet visor, througb which he could only just barely see their eyes. "What the hell are you doing local?" One demanded, obviously the leader, his accent was smooth, yet comical in that you could tell he wasnt used to talking in English, "You scoping out base for Raiders? Huh?!" "Wha-No. No sir, I just heard about you on the radio and I wanted to check out what he was ta-" "Well stop being so damn curious and move on or we'll make you!" "Could you at least tell me what you're doing here?" "We took over a base from raiders, that's all you need to know local." "Geez, you guys sound like the Outc-" "MOVE, LEAVE!" the soldier yelled, giving Jonathan a surprisingly strong push, sending him falling back onto his back. With that, Jonathan took off running towards the library. (Terreans are naturally strong due to the higher gravity of Terra, then on top of that, Gloriian armor has a built in exoskeleton to even further strengthen its soldiers.)
With the soldiers returning to resume their patrols, Jonathan was running towards the library. As he ran, he tried to look behind him to see if the soldiers were still looking or threatening him. Although, he wasn't watching what was happening in front of him and he crashed into another person. The two of them collided into each other and both let out a gasp before they hit the ground. Taylor groaned as she tried to sit up, only to find another man roughly the same age as she was was on the ground across from her. All she felt was something physical hitting her body then hitting the ground. She blinked for a moment before her mind wandered about the concern of the man that accidentally ran face first into her more 'feminine assets'. (Taylor = The great sexy adorkable hero of the Wastes! Essentially a Fallout version of Twilight Sparkle, personality and all.)
(Hehe) Jomathan groaned for a moment from the impact before rsalizing what had happened and where his head was, he quickly poppex up, saying "sorry" several times as he offered a hand to Taylor to help her to her feet, "Again, I am so very sorry, just got chased off by those guys at the top of the hill for "spying" om them, had to get out of there quick." Jonathan was heavily muscled, and was 6ft 4 and 270pounds of pure muscle just about. He hsd brillant blue eyes and his hair was a complete mess of brownish blonde.howver despite the outwardly hardcore apperence, several things gave his true light hearteded, albeit awkward with people, personality. From the robot on his shoulder that somehow made a sentry bot look cute, the lack of any evidence of intense fighting on his skin (as in, lack of scars), and the energy weapons on his back that had been very obviously heavily modified should he was very intelligent, but those weapons looked nearly pristine, there was a lack of any kind of jerryrigging.
"It's um....no problem" Taylor said cutely, blushing and clearly embarrassed about what had just happened and how she almost acted like an airbag to Jonathan. While she was helped up, she looked at the hill that the other man had pointed out to her. "Yeah, I can see what you mean. Not very friendly from what I've heard."
Jonathan quickly nodded, "Yeah, but I did learn a few things, their walls have been blast proofed, they have multiple snipers, dont really speak English, and they have patrols that go out and about, along with some kind of radio tower that I guess is their comm tower." He told Taylor, eager to put the incident behind them.
"Comm tower, wonder what they've been using it for. I'm not just going to guess that its used to listen to Galaxy News. From what I can tell, they must be trying to contact someone or something. Security and defenses are incredibly tight, so it must be military." Taylor told him before running down a list of options in her head.
"I would say to it's talk to talk to their patrols." Jonathan replied, before extending his hand, "Anyways, name's Jonathan. And this little guy here is Pop."
"Oh, silly me. Forgot to tell you my name" Taylor replied before noticing the robot on his shoulder, and tried her hardest not to completely act like a child in a toy-store around the little robot. "I'm Taylor Bowman, nice to meet you." she said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you, so what are you doing around here? You with the Brotherhood of Steel?" He asked, "They seem to be the only ones brave enough to stick around here with that group just up the road." He added, pointing over his shoulder to the weird nee faction.
"Not really. I volunteer for missions every now and then, but that's really it. I'm a close friend to some of the more influential figures. Although, I don't buy into their techno-religious mumbo jumbo. I'm just happy they actually decided to help the wasteland instead of just letting it die." Taylor told Jonathan.
"I unfortunately have to deal with the Outcasts more often than not. One, I don't go into DC very much, and two, well, just look at all the tech on me. They would salivate for the chance to grab Pop and my laser weaponry." Jonathan explained, "And speaking of Outcasts...Those guys honestly gave me a very Outcast-y feel, referred to me as a "local" and talked down to me like I was a savage and everything." He sighed and shook his head, "Well...Hey, mind if I follow you for a bit, Taylor? I got nowhere better to be and you seem like someone who can actually understand a word I'm saying."
"Sure, go right on ahead." Taylor told him. "I've been conducting research actually for a book, I was heading back to Megaton to finish with the final chapter. You can tag along if you wish."
"Sure, sounds fun if that research requires travel. Are you writing this book or did someone hire you to do it for you?" Jonathan asked
