Taylor got dressed and headed back downstairs, her frantic bed hair now being sorted out. Despite her intelligence, she looked impossibly beautiful this morning. She woke up and sat on the couch, reading over something. A cute little smile on her face when she found Jonathan on the table.
Jonathan blinked awake, stretching out and starts to turn over and ends up falling on the floor, "AH!" He yelled out in shock as he slammed onto the groundbefore scrambling to his feet, looking around in surprise, "Wha-huh? What just happened?"
"Oh...Right." Jonathan muttered, he looked a mess, and definitely was showing to not be the most graceful and best looking when it comes to waking up, "Ugh, my back." He muttered as he twisted, which resulting in a series of pops as he popped his back, "Anyways...How'd you sleep?"
"Could be better. Looked pretty messy when I woke up, so I just got myself changed and all that before." Taylor said before looking at her Pipboy. "We've been asleep for a while, it's almost ten in the morning."
"Well, considering we took out Paradise Falls, I would say we de-" "NEWS TIME CHILDREN!" Three Dogs voice suddenly interrupted as Pop turned the radio on, "so you remember that column of smoke everyone that spent any time outside yesterday saw? Well, get this, I just heard reports from an escaped slave saying that that column was the smoke of Paradise Falls burning to the ground, and guess who we can thank for this daring escapade? None other than the Lone Wonderer, the Light Bringer, herself! Now how about that. Gal, if you ever pop by, have a drink on me. You deserve it."
Taylor seemed delighted at the news, although the report forgot some key components. "Looks like he forgot somebody." She said, looking at Jonathan with a warm smile.
Jonathan chuckled, "I'ld rather not become well knowm, you deserve the credit." Jonathan then went and cleaned up a bit, but before he left, he looked back at Taylor and said, "By the way, you look nice." And softly smiled at her before disappearing into the restroom. **** Navius and his troop pulled several peices of equipments into their base, recovered from the wrecked craft they had arrived in, well, crashed in. Including three anti-air battaries and other things they decided would allow them to hold onto their base far better nkw that they had an idea of the best equipment of the inhabitants in the Wasteland
As Jonathan left the room, Wadsworth made the two of them breakfast. While the Mr.Handy was busy, Taylor sat on her couch and tinkered around with her laser rifle.
Jonathan came back out after straightening himself up, coming back out to see Taylor fiddling with her laser rifle. Sittibg next to her, he watched her work, "Say, what exactly are you trying modify?" He asked her
"Just trying to ensure that its working, something happened at Paradise Falls. Im sure a stray bullet must have damaged it somehow." Taylor told him while using a screwdriver to adjust the weapon. "Power and ammo consumption seems to be running nominally, energy transfer seemed to be perfect. So on, so forth."
Jonathan looked over the rifle and noticed the bullet hole, "Oh I think I know what happened here." He said, taking apart the rifle, opening it up in half to reveal its insides, and there, sitting right in front of the focuser lens, was the bullet. Plucking it out and putting some jury rigged repairs in, he closed the rifle back up and handed it back to Taylor, "Usually, when a laser rifle doesnt fire, it means there's an obstruction somewhere in the barrel. Especially before the focus lens which is what makes the laser a laser."
"Oh, okay" Taylor said while watching Jonathan. "I'm not that skilled in repairing things. I mean, I might be a an egghead, but I'm not really that good at repairing things."
"Well, remember, I spent the first 17 years of my life in the faction where energy weapons are THE thing, so it's something they teach pretty hard." Jonathan explained, "So domt feel too bad."
"Eh, you're right. I'm kinda outclassed in that sort of thing anyway." Taylor said before opening a locker, which almost appeared like an storage room for the weapons she's collected: From a Sniper Rifle to a few pistols, energy weapons tended to outnumber the normal guns almost two to one. She did however, own one of a kind weaponry, one of which was General Jingwei's Shocksword, which sat in its own case. She went about before looking for more weapons, before she finally found what she needed. She took out an incredibly advanced energy pistol and placed it on the table next to her laser rifle, appearing foreign in origin. "I found this once, never really got it out due to the scarcity of the ammo. I've been running experiments on finding a way to recreate the weapons ammunition system. This should really interest you, the Brotherhood would kill for something like this." On the table was the Alien Blaster, truly something to be afraid against. Taylor didn't even know where she found it, she just remembered finding it one morning.
Jonathan looked at it curiously, pickibg it up and studying it closer, "It definitely iznt like anything I've ever seen, and it doesnt look like something that belonged to those new guys from what I daw." He said before handing it back to Taylor, "Quite the find though. I would hang onto it, and I doubt the Brotherhood would really care at this point, they're too busy fighting the super mutants. If I remember correctly what Lyon's said when he made his decision to wage war on the super mutants he said something to the effect of "If we clear out this super mutant threat, it will benefit both us and the locals. Most importantly, it will benefit us in winning support and removing the only credible threat to our mission to recover technology." and the last I heard, Lyons has forgotten that second part. Which means it's the Outcasts you mainly have to worry about figuring out you have that." Jonathan further elaborated before clearing his throat, "Now, if you don't mind me asking, I can't help but feel there's something important you need to do, but haven't gotten around to?" (I'm trying to hint that if James is dead, that would mean Taylor would be on the "recover the GECK" mission)
Taylor almost jumped off the couch. "Yes, I've almost forgot. I haven't been able to do this just yet, I've been busy. I've been tasked by the Brotherhood to recover a GECK to help finish the final stage of Project Purity. The only place however that it's located in is Vault 87. Yes, THAT Vault with the super mutants. I believe it's where they've originated from actually. It's very dangerous, so I've been preparing myself for it. Then I got to meet you and well.....you've been on my mind since then" Taylor's face went red at the last part of her sentence. "Y-you know what I mean"
Jonathan raised an eyebrow, not really understanding why Taylor suddenly blushed, "I know what you meant anyways, if that's what's needed to be done, then lets do it, shall we?" He told Taylor, already going to grab his armor and weapons, "I trust you in that tgis will greatly benefit the Wateland, so that's what matters."
