"Suprise b***h!" Taylor shouted, going through the other door as she shot her laser rifle at the two Hellfire troopers, precise shots hitting them in the back of the head. Autumn himself was hit in his right kneecap, the laser going straight through him as he collapsed to the ground in pain. "You killed James Bowman, my father. You will not leave this place alive."
Jonathan was suddenly joined by Sarah, but the two decided to quickly go to the Purifier itself instead, leaving Taylor to deal with Colonel Autumn as the two began to try to find a way to get into the Purifier and not get overly irradiated.
Colonel Autumn coughed and whined in pain as he moved about on the floor, his situation being quite helpless. Taylor swapped her weapon to her revolver, Autumn not even deserving to die by laser. She went onto her knees and placed the weapon to the forehead of the Colonel. "You don't deserve mercy. You're responsible for the deaths of hundreds, even thousands of lifes across the wastes. I'm going to do the world a favor." Autumn just stared wide-eyed at the young woman next to her, knowing he is about to die. He looked at Taylor and just looked at her in disgust. "You should have killed me when you had the chance." Taylor said before unloading a bullet into Autumn's forehead. With him dead, Taylor can finally come to peace with herself knowing that her fathers munderer was dealt with. She rejoined Sarah and Jonathan a couple of meters away
Just then, Doctor Li's voice came on the intercom, "I'm sorry, but I'm reading near lethal levels of radiation inside the Purifier, and worse still, it seems as though some major components got damaged, wether accidental or sabotage I don't know but you need to turn the Purifier on NOW or the damage will be catastrophic!" "Well...So much for celebrating..." Sarah muttered, "So, what do we do? Draw straws?"
A silence went across the group, thinking about who would be the one would would enter the purifier. Taylor looked at Sarah and Jonathan and nodded. "I'll do it"
Jonathan took a deep breathe, he wanted to say he would do it, he wanted to save Taylor, "I..I may not like it...But I guess it's what's right..." he muttered.
Taylor looked at the purifier and took a deep breath. She was going to go inside the purifier and save the wasteland, at the cost of her own life. She never even told Jonathan about the feelings that she had for him, but she believed that he knew deep down.
Jonathan swallowed as she stepped into the airlock and Dr Li's voice came back on, "Hurry up! The Purifier needs to be activated NOW!" He gave Taylor a sad nod before hitting the airlock switch that reversed the door, blocking off his access and opening up Taylor's way to the machine to turn on the Purifier...
The Lone Wanderer walked to the terminal, all the while stuff seemed to spark around her. She felt weak the moment she stepped inside. The radiation levels were immense, and she figured she had around thirty seconds before she would soon die. Her fathers words in her head, Revelation 21:6 She went over to the console and activated the code. As she did so, she suddenly felt an enormous surge of radiation pass through her. The GECK activated and Taylor slowly collapsed onto the ground. She musted all of her remaining strength to rest against the console and look out the window. Everything went white around her and she had one final smile on her face. She did it.
Suddenly, everything went black for everyone in the room after there was a bright flash and Jefferson was revealed. Little did they know, they would all survive, but most would be out for 2 or more weeks...
Taylor's body was taken to the Citadel, where she was immediately treated by the medical staff. She survived, but only barely. Had the incident in the purifier not have happened, she would had died. After about being in a coma for two weeks, she woke up inside the medical room.
(oh, by the way, made a nation on that nationstate thing, called the Federal Republic of Glory :3) "Oh good! You're awake!" Lyons said to Taylor as she awoke, "We were beginning to wonder if you would ever wake. Your friend here was especially concerned. He himself woke about a week ago." The room was small, but Fawkes could be seen leaning into the doorway so he could see, and just behind Lyons was Jonathan, who was sitting in a chair and had just looked up from the ground at the sound of Taylor waking, and as soon as he saw Taylor awake, a goofy smile broke out across his face.
"H-how long was I out?" Taylor asked before Fawkes suddenly entered the room, no indoor voice as always. "TAYLOR! HOW ARE YOU FEELING?" "Not so loud, Fawkes. She only just woke up" Elder Lyons said to the mutant, surprisingly tolerant of him since he was the only 'good' one he has ever encountered. Fawkes turned around and waved in Jonathan with his giant green hand. Taylor was still out of it, but she at least knew that her friends missed her
"Two weeks." Lyons responded. "And in those two weeks, we've been kicking some Enclave butt! Of course its been mainly mop-up operations, but they still feel...Organized." Jonathan pipped in "Enough Romoros, I was about to get to that, but only if she feels up to it." Lyons told Jonathan, who looked much more well groomed than when Taylor met him right up to the Purifier. "Fine fine..." He muttered "Anyways, I was going to tell you that Sarah is also fine, she is sadly the last of you to wake, and Liberty Prime has been wonderful in helping us snub out the Enclave. However, we fear they still have a second base of operations and we're trying to figure out where it is. Our best lead is a radio site far two the southwest, but I want you to take your time, Taylor. You've been through a lot and I don't want you pushing your body too hard."
"I understand, Elder. I might need to take a break for a few days until my body recovers." Taylor said, pushing herself off the bed with some difficulty before walking across the ground. Her legs wobbled but she soon got her footing and before she knew it, she was up and about. Elder Lyons decided to give Taylor and Jonathan some time alone, while Fawkes left for his own reason. Her hearing was sort of funny, but the Super Mutant mentioned something about heading to the Laboratory to get his Gatling laser fixed. Soon enough, it was just the two of them in the room. (Just reading your Nationstates country now, seems like you have a good start! I need to write in my factbook at some point)
(Thanks ^^ And if you ever wanna do some kind of RP with our nations, more than happy to :3) Jonathan scooted his chair over next to Taylor's bed, "I'm really glad that you're awake and okay..." He said to her, "I've been restored to the Codex in the Brotherhood, but don't worry, they've assigned me to "The personal protection detail of the VIP "Lone Wanderer"", basically saying I can stay being your traveling partner." He told her with a soft smile.
(I've been coming up with a history and everything at the moment, it's heavily based off Germany with elements of Russia, Swedish and France thrown in somewhere.) Taylor had a smile come onto her face, feeling happy since she woke up. She decided to scoot closer and closer to Jonathan while he was talking, hopefully without him noticing. Once he'd finished talking, she rested her head on his lap and had a cute little smile on her face. "Awesome" was the only thing she said in response.
(Oh cool. And I have the advantage of having Glory already made x3) Jonathan blinked at Taylor's actions, blushing slightly as he looked down at her, a little shocked but he soon calmed himself and gently started running his hand through her hair, both out of affection and to help clean up her major case of bed head. "Brought you some water for when you woke.." He added, picking up a clear bottle of Aqua Pura, "We almost died over this...To provide the Wasteland with this, something that hasn't been seen in large quantities since the nukes fell..." he muttered, setting the bottle on the bed next to Taylor, "I wanted to prove to you that it was worth it."
Taylor was cooing at the feeling of the hand running through her hair, a sensation of peace that she hasn't felt in a long time. The fact that it was somebody she cared about, perhaps even loved, made her feel nice and cozy inside. She wished that Jonathan never left her side. She picked up and held the bottle of Aqua Pura in her hands, looking at the clean water with a smile on her face. The wasteland was changing for the better, and she was at the forefront of this change. She put the bottle back down and looked Jonathan directly in the eyes, her own eyes clouded with affection and love. The two of them were going to spend quite abit of time together now, especially with Jonathan's new 'position' in the Codex. And she loved it.
Jonathan, although outwardly slightly confused by this and not really showing the same emotion outwardly, he felt somewhat similar on the inside, "Now...When you feel up to it, would you like to go relax back at your home, out of sight from the Brotherhood and all the troubles?" he asked her softly. ******** Ever since the Battle of the Purifier, the new strange faction who finally came out calling themselves the "Gloriians" had taken up the role of local defense and helped with the larger Enclave camps, but even with their greater influence, the faction was rarely seen outside Arlington and the areas of DC near the Purifier and Rivet City. However, they had proved themselves immensely useful, in the two weeks since the Purifier battle, they had managed to completely clear Arlington of Super Mutants, Raiders, and Ghouls. They even helped get Greyditch back on its feet from the devastating Fire Ant outbreak, so much as even referring to the town as their "second home". In fact, it was more their primary base by now, the old one only being used as a field base now. In Greyditch, the Gloriians lived side by side with the Wastelanders who have sought refugee there, seeking their protection and to be closer to the clean water (though of course they didn't let just anyone in, there was of course a screening process. But the town that once was a stopover for people on their way to more permanent accommodations was growing into a thriving little community.
