(We can do that! Although, we've already come super close to the end of this one. Let's just finish this one so that we can make things interesting for the "BIG" Nationstates one) Taylor and Jonathan were on their way through the Presidential Metro with one final objective, defeat and destroy the Enclave. The Brotherhood knew that without a shadow of a doubt, Taylor and Jonathan were the two most dangerous individuals in the Brotherhood, perhaps on the entire East Coast. They were perfect for the final mission against the Enclave, who is supposed to be in Adams AFB outside of DC. To get there would involve activating a long dormant train system, fighting through hordes of ghouls and robots, navigating the death trap that was the metro itself and trying to outperform the one of the most powerful security measures since the end of the Great War. And they weren't at Adams yet! Our heroes inside the metro. While they had grown romantically, they had one final mission before they can truly relax. What they will do in the near future will affect the wasteland for decades, perhaps centuries, to come.
(Okay. And hey, Crim? You seem to keep trying to have these massive battles happen, you have to remember, these are tribes you're going up to fight. You know; guerilla warfare? Not attacking in force unless certain of victory?) For this mission, Jonathan had recovered Pop, the little robot that hadnt done much yet, but was about to show its true usefulness as the pair descended into the Metro, "Okay, just stay hidden, okay?" He told Taylor, "Pop will take care of everything robotic." Any confusion Taylor might have had was quickly straightened out when they cane across the first sentry bot patrolling a hallway. Setting Pop down, Jonathan tap a small button on Pop's back that seemed to reinvigorate the tiny bot. It zipped underneath the Sentry Bot and suddenly released a blast of energy, disabling the sentry bot instantly, "Pop's a walking EMP. Effective against bots and power armor, I havent really had the chance to show you." He told her, "Now come on, lets keep going and let Pop take point."
(Okay, should have focused on that instead. Won't happen again.) Taylor looked at the robot, impressed at the results. She soon came to answer Jonathan. "Right, let's keep moving. I want to get out of this place as soon as possible They two of them soon went their way across the metro, gunning or slashing down anything that posed as a threat. Soon enough, they would encounter an incredibly old AI.
(however, the Ellinians would face you in conventional battle, but remember their knowledge of psychological warfare, and they use scythe chariots) "Please present identification" the AI requested Jonathan took out this card he had found next to a skeleton in a metro car on their way here. "Welcome, Senator Richard Bolluck. How may I assist you today?" "How can you get the car to Adams Air Force base up and running?" Jonathan asked the AI "I'm sorry. Currently a fuse has blown to the controls, and while I can send a repair sentry bot, there are currently a large infiltration of hostile humanoids in the tunnels. The infiltrators seem to have high levels of radiation and appear to have no body heat. Currently, I have lost 20% of the Security Bots trying to end the infiltration, and I can not send a repair bot until the situation is under control." the computer AI responded slowly and methodically.
"So the only way to get the car up and running is to do it manually? Taylor answered the AI. "Correct. The car contains a secondary powersource incase a major disaster has occured amongst the main powersource. This is the only way I can get the car online" "What about changing the targeting parameters for the Sentry Bots?"
"I have registered Senator Bullock's ID. He and his travel companions have been recorded into the system and the security system will recognize you and defend you." MARGOT replied, "You should experience no difficulties other than the infiltrators."
"Alright, guess we should make our way to the car then. Appreciated the help." Taylor told the AI "You're welcome. Have a nice day!" MARGOT told the two of them, Once the two of them were through, three sentry bots came past them and quickly gunned down multiple ghouls that were heading their way. A missile was shot from one of the bots that slammed into a condensed group of twelve ghouls, blowing them away. With the help of turrets as well, the ghouls stood little chance other then their numbers. "Well, glad they are on our side....Senator Bullock" Taylor said to Jonathan, having the cheeky smile on her pretty face.
Jonathan rolled his eyes, looking down at the ID card, "Wonder how in the world this guy got elected with a last name like that." he muttered before looking over at Taylor, "I'm never going to leave this down, am I?"
(Tactical romance incoming!) "Nope!" Taylor laughed cutely as she went over to Jonathan's side, making the move to hold his hand. For all she could know, this could very well be the last time that they will ever see each other. One of them could die, and Taylor was determined to show how much she cared for Jonathan, how much she loved him, before disaster could potentially strike. She knew that he had felt the same way, but they had little time to relax due to the Brotherhood always calling them out for missions. After they've walked for a while, Taylor looked into Jonathan's eyes. "Jonathan....if any of us are killed when we reach Adams, I just want to....what I'm trying to say is....I love you. Like, alot. Your the greatest person that I've ever met. I know that we've been awkward about this whole thing, but I can't mask these feelings anymore. I feel warm and funny whenever I'm around you, and my mind just dances around. You might not see me like this normally, especially since I'm labeled as hero in the eyes of many and that you tend to see me acting tough and all that....but deep down, I'm just a young girl who is scared half to death. Then you came along while I was experiencing a low point in my life and completely turned it around. You shown me a light that I've never seen before. There are some things about you that I just adore. Your funny, you happen to be quite the looker and you are the most talented man that I've ever met. So...if I died before or during the Suicide missions that the Brotherhood always sends us on, I just wanted to get this off my chest and tell you how I really feel. I love you Jonathan, more then anything else in the entire world."
Jonathan looked down at Taylor, looking at her holding his hand. without saying a word, he pulled her into a tight hug, "Shush with those thoughts, we will make it. But...I..I love you too Taylor. Tell you what, after this mission, lets put our foot down. After this, the Enclave will be too shattered to be of much concern, then we can go to Megaton...settle down and occasionally go out for a little wasteland justice...Me and you."
Taylor hugged Jonathan as tightly as she could out of pure affection and love. "Yeah...we'd both love that." Eventually, they reached the car they needed to reach Adams, although it was protected by a particularly nasty Sentry Bot that didn't seem to have any connection to MARGOT's system. Taylor destroyed the Sentry Bot with a single shot from her Laser Rifle as an overcharged shot completely vaporised its head. They were both soon on the car and after some fiddling around, got it operational.
Jonathan turned to see a sentry bot suddenly speed down the sideway next to them going into some sort of control room. After some fiddling, the lights suddenly came on the the controls were truly responsive. Taking a breath and hovering his hand over the button that would take them to Adams Air Force Base, he looked at Taylor, "You ready?" he asked her, holding her hand with his other hand
Taylor took her free hand and held it over Jonathan's, giving him a warm smile that could melt the coldest of hearts. "Always..." And just like that, the two both pressed the button
The tra8n shot past scenes of ghouls fighting sentry bots for nearky a mile before fading away and they were left with empty tunnel. Eventually, the train came to a halt outside a plaform, "Here we are...This must be Adams Air Force Base..." he muttered
"Well...it's now or never" Taylor stepped off the train, holding her Laser Rifle in her hand as she took the lead. The entrance was quiet and no signs of life were found. She looked out and nodded to Jonathan, giving him the all clear
Pop suddenly jumped off Jonathans shoulder and zipped around the up coming corner and stairs. There was the sound of Pop releasing an EMP blast and two enclave soldiers yelling, "I cant move!" "Whelp, Pop helped us again."
"Remind me to reward him later" Taylor said, walking past the two paralysed Enclave soldiers and finding a crate nearby. Opening it up; he looked at Jonathan. "Jonathan, look what we got for Christmas!"
Jonathan looked in to see a tesla cannon, with a grin on his face he took it out of the box, "Oh yes, this will do just nicely against power armor and the like!"
Jonathan looked up and noticed Mark IV turrets along the buildings, it looked like they weren't active at the moment, however...he looked around and saw a small metal building in the corner, while the way straight forward had a few Enclave soldiers guarding it, "Taylor, think you can sneak over there and hack into the turret system? Maybe we can give them a nasty surprise!"
