"As you wish..." Crimson said as both of them traveled to his safehouse, which turned out to be his home in Los Pegasus. Outside of the walls, the securitrons were confused about the Glorian alongside their ruler. Under receiving strict orders from Crimson, they were told not to fire on him. The king then led him across the wall until he stood at a steel door. Leading Jarii through the door, the stood at an empty room with a light-switch on the wall. Once he flicked it, the room itself went down into the surface below like an elevator, revealing a hotel like suite covered in absolute luxury once the elevator doors were opened. Other then the elevator to the surface, another door was located. Containing a workshop where a shuttle was about to start being built. "I like my guests to enjoy luxury. The shuttle is being built as we speak, we were previously exploring with left over tech from the war. Currently, it's not FTL ready, but should be near completion within the next week" Crimson told Jarii, showing the metal frame of a body being constructed by hundreds of workers and technological geniuses through a window. "It might look like a husk at this moment, but installing the rest of the tech and the performace parts should take much less time than the body itself. If the body had a single flaw, it could burn up in the atmosphere. Luckily for us, some of the builders here are descended from engineers which created former Equestrian starships. You're in safe hands, but having to stay here will bore you. I'll alert the city that you have arrived, and you should be on releatively good terms with the population of the city. However, expect some sneers from some because of the war's impact on the world."
Jarii sighed and shook his head, "But you dont have a jump point creator! Terra is 12 light years away from this planet, Ciilonii 6, and no ship can go near the speed of light realistically! And the only Jump Pointer on this planet that I can think of would have been destroyed along with any tech of importance on the X-190, the ship I arrived in." he replied simply before slumping over, "And any Jump Pointer that your kind might have left from the Wars would have become far too decayed by now to be usable!"
Crimson's expression dropped at the news, disappointed at what little the war had left the planet with. He went over to a bench containing a terminal and a pistol with two small boxes of ammunition. He looked out of the window, his eyes focusing on the skeleton of the ship. He turned back to face Jarii, quite frustrated. "Then this might become a problem then. A jump point, as you have said, would have expired by this date and rendering your return home impossible." Crimson said as he paced himself across the room in thought before stopping moments later. "If it were possible, maybe we could find schematics to such a device. But doing so will be having to send my securitrons across the wastes, which would gain the attention of others..." Crimson paced himself again as he walked around the room, deep in thought.
Jarii watched Crim's pacing, "Sorry, and I don't exactly have schematics for the Jump Pointer memorized. Hell, the ship you're rebuilding was probably never meant to fly through it's own jump, probably more of a cruiser that would pass through a permanent Jump Ring to its corresponding exit." he informed Crim, "Jump portals are highly unstable without those two permanent points..." he added. Jarii sat down and took out the necklace around his neck, from which hung a cross and a small orb, "But maybe in the meantime, I can pay you back for helping." he said, holding the orb by itself, "It's a magic inhibitor. Basically acts like an EMP, only as a constant effect to anything magical in a 200 yard radius. Futarii-Tec developed it upon request of the Glorian government to deal with the magical shields and magical attacks that inhibited our campaigns so much on Ciilonii. Apparently they work by blocking off the "flow of magical energy between Essence and User", which is why they explain that your pegasi cant even fly within its affected radius..."
Crimson took the necklace and studied it. "These were an enormous problem during the war, and to think so much damage and death can be caused by something as small as a necklace." The Eternal looked at the ship, even more disappointed upon hearing the news. "There is another possibility, through the chances of it actually working are slim to none since you basically....no, that wont work, you shot down all of our satellites meaning telecommunications would be impossible." he sighed as he went to pace himself again. "The ship itself might rip itself apart during it's jump without the proper testing if it were to be rushed, and that the jump will only be a one way trip." He turned himself around to face Jarii. "At my current state, I'm running out of options. The last thing i need at this moment is to start a war with Red Eye or the Steel Rangers just to get some tech for a ship that will not only never be able to survive a jump but possibly never enter even the mesosphere." He sighed deeply before sitting next to Jarii. "Sorry about this..."
Jarii took his necklace back, stuffing the cross and orb back into his uniform, "Well, looks like we're stuck in the city with no boat out then, eh?" he asked rhetorically, "But honestly...I'm probably marked as dead already in Glory. You see, I was chosen as a test pilot for the X-190 because well...It was a highly dangerous test...and I was chosen because all my family is either dead, or too distant to care..." he slumped down, "I might as well stay here, probably a lot more waiting for me here than back home..."
"A test pilot for an X-190, sounds like an experimental jet." Crimson said before focusing on the situation at hand. "If you're listed as K.I.A in Glory, and stranded on the planet your race were enemies against almost being reduced to a wasteland, then it looks like you're going to be here for a very long time. It's impossible to know exactly how long, but considering the effects of the war two centuries ago, then it's safe to say you're not leaving by the end of this week. It's more like twenty to fifty years with our current technological state, eighteen if the entire wasteland simply decided to develop from scratch." "I'm sorry. But there is nothing else that i could do, all that i can currently do is provide you with shelter, sanitation, food and water and so forth, something the wasteland sorely lacks." Crimson told the Glorian sadly as he looked at the ship again. "At least the ship could be able to transport us to far or isolated locations quickly, but it will now not be space worthy." He turned around again as he looked upwards to see Jarii. "I wish i could have helped you, but it turned out that i was wrong...."
Jarii shrugged and sighed, "It's fine. But if you ever need help with ma-po-manpower, I may be no Elatian, but I certainly still do have 10 years of training and military experience. So if you ever need help with anything, I can do what I can for you..."
Crimson then whistled loudly as a small robotic eyebot appeared out of the engineering room and scanned Jarri with a blue wave. After being scanned three times, the robot then whistled with a system of beeps as the king smiled. "I have just given you free access to Los Pegasus, forever. You're always welcome here." Crimson said as he walked with the Glorian to the elevator they had just arrived in due to it having the quickest access to the surface in an eerily silence. Once the doors opened, Crimson friendly waved goodbye before the steel doors shut tight, hiding him out of view as the elevator began to move, heading upwards towards the rest of the wastes.
Jarii looked around the room Crim had dropped him off in, his inventive Glorian mind already thinking of how to make the most of this situation. He first took stock of the room, it was simple, a couch near a radio, some shelving holding some general junk and items that reminded him of his fission and microfusion batteries, but not quite. There was some ammunition boxes and a small rifle that he knew he would never be able to use as it was meant for ponies. Looking into the two doors in the room, he saw one lead to a bedroom type area, which had a footlocker for clothes and a door to a bathroom, the other door in the main room lead to a small kitchen, but there was no way out besides the elevator. He then sat on the couch and checked his inventory; 10 MREs, 5 bottles of water, several fission batteries, microfusion cells, and other various power sources and goods. He looked up to notice a workbench, along with some various scraps and a welder next to it. "Hmm..." He muttered to himself as he examined it, ideas flashing through his head...
(A.D will be going under a name change, and a background modification.) As soon as the elevator closed, Crimson took another elevator to his penthouse office on the very top of the tower that stood proudly above the city. Taking his seat to open his terminal, he received several messages from his contacts about the shuttle crash and other related news, showing extremely detailed portraits of the shuttle and the whole commotion about it. Deciding to keep the peace, Crimson sent a patrol of securitrons and soldiers to the site of the crash and to encourage others to simply stay away while helping others found settlements in Los Pegasus occupied Equestria. The civilians seemed to be completely about this decision to expand, others even commenting that it’s about time. Crimson eyed an old manufacturing town where huge amounts of pre-war armor, weaponry and the factories that kept the war effort going. If he could create a settlement there, then he would have to power to keep Los Pegasus completely defended from attackers. Meanwhile, his scientists have possibly discovered a way to completely counter-act the pink cloud that haunted Canterlot, even being able to destroy it entirely. Crimson supported this idea greatly, allowing the place of his birth to be resettled safely and therefore increasing the speed and strength of a unified Equestria, something he has dreamed of since The Last Day. He decided to make this a priority mission as he kept watch on the progress by the Scientists while ensuring that the manufacturing town remained within his grasp. He allowed his adopted daughter to keep watch of the city while he took command of a platoon from the Los Pegasus military, serving as leader alongside the Squad Leader, Captain Grey Steel. Crimson and the platoon left the city and headed towards the settlement located almost three hours away from a pre-war military truck.
Jarii stepped back from the armor he had just created after hours of work, built from hammered scrap metal and shelving, halfway melted into form as well. It was, of course, a fairly rough version of an Elatian's power armor that looked forcibly integrated , and probably nowhere near as protective, but after some manipulation of the rifle in the room, he managed to fire a test round at the armor, which easily stopped the bullet. With a smile, he put his new armor on and picked through the room, taking as many supplies as his backpack could hold. Just a few hours later, he had left, why? Well...He knew that Glorians go made when contained, and he did not wish that upon Crimson's city...
(Crimson’s armour is almost exactly like this without the rebreather and that the colour of the duster is darker, almost a maroon colour. Also, this is not my courier. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/images/50500-3-1370333515.jpg) Almost three hours later, Crimson and the platoon led by Grey Steel arrived almost a kilometre away from the manufacturing town. Crimson was the first to step down from the steps from the truck, followed shortly by Grey’s squad. The town was, surprisingly, almost untouched. However, the town looked like it was recently occupied by raiders numbering in the dozens. Crimson ordered two teams of two to work on Sniper duty, while the remainder of the force took down the raiders. On a long dirt path, Crimson and Grey’s squad began to walk towards the town. The raiders, who noticed them quickly began to get into a defensive position. However, the moment they seen Crimson leading the squad, five of them decided to abandon the town entirely and ran for their lives, one of them deciding to slitting his throat to avoid death from the King of Los Pegasus. The others were more defiant, taking shots the moment they were in range before being cut down by sniper fire. Bullets hit the platoons armour and did not visible effect, Grey took a round to his chest, only to stand back up afterwards. When the rounds hit the Eternal, they had no affect on him at all. Almost all the bullets that hit Crimson did absolutely nothing to his armour, only his front legs and his head were exposed, and even then, was toughened to become as strong as steel and regenerates quickly. The battle lasted for barely a minute in an absolute curb stomp sided battle for Crimson and the Los Pegasus platoon. Crimson didn’t even fire a shot, allowing the platoon to cause the damage needed to the raiders. Once the raiders were wiped out, they lined up in line and received a congratulations from Crimson, and received hoofshakes and medals. Once the green light was lit, Crimson and the platoon restored the power situation to get the factories back online as the population that wished to leave the city left to the town and began to settle there. With the platoon protecting the city and the settlers while they began to set up the new town, now named Maneington, Crimson left again towards his city to help the scientists finish the possible ‘cure’ for the cloud of death that plagued Canterlot.
After getting several kilometers away from Las Pegasus, Jarii sat by a small pond that according to his PIC-sali was heavily irradiated. With a sigh of slight annoyance, he pulled out his necklace and took the cross in his hand and dipped it in the pond for several seconds before checking its radiation level again, it was almost entirely gone. Breathing a sigh of relief and kissed the cross, "Oh Imadiian, why are you so wonder?" he said out loud, referring to the purifying metal the cross was made of. Taking a long drink of fresh, clean water from the pond, he sighed contently, and filled a couple spare containers with it. Standing up, he realized that it was getting late, so he took out his spade and dug himself a small ditch in which his sleeping bag would allow him to blend in perfectly with his surroundings. After a snack from his MRE, he slid into the sleeping bag and rolled into the ditch, where he would spend the night...
Arriving late into his city, Crimson rejected the need for sleep as he took an elevator down to the science labs, where a team of scientists eagerly awaited his arrival. The labs mirrored those that was found at Big Mountain, and it's clever team of scientists were also discovering new things at an impressive rate. Crimson received a speech from the head doctor, a ghoul pony named Summer Heart who came from Canterlot after the mega spells hit. Bringing some of the poison cloud from the city, Summer and her team have found a way to destroy it. "Mr.Lionheart" She spoke as she walked alongside Crimson, followed behind her team. "The data coming up is unlike anything we have ever seen. We said that we could have found a possible solution to Canterlot's pink cloud residue." "How exactly does it work? Does the cloud remove the oxygen directly from the cloud?" Crimson said. Summer nodded in agreement. "Exactly, the cure for this 'disease' is simple. We send pegasi to the city to cover the entire area with this formula, which will then proceed to strip the oxygen away. Once done, the pink cloud will collapse or "purify" itself and vanish from existence. However, we need to take the right precautions..." Crimson stopped suddenly and looked at the ghoul. "With the loss of oxygen for a temporary period of time. I take it that anything in the city will suffocate and die?" Summer nodded again. "Precisely. Which is why before the cloud is removed, we need to evacuate it's residents to a safe distance. Roughly five kilometers from the city's outskirts. "And how do you know this will work?" Summer waked up towards a bottle of the cloud and pressed a button on the machine, which removed it's oxygen. Within seconds, the cloud became fainter and fainter until it ceased to exist." This impressed Crimson and shook hoofs with Summer. Crimson, clearly very pleased with Summer both looked at each other and at the cloud, which will destroy the problem that has turned their birthtowns into a nightmare. "Summer. You've done it again, I'll give the warning to Canterlot immediately."
(I'll take it the plan will fail because it's just so impractically huge, plus the dragon/mouse thing?) - - Auto Merge - - Jarii awoke in the morning very well rested for some reason, sliding out of his sleeping bag, he looked around the area around the pond to see the dead looking grass that has surrounded it had turned bright green, "Hm...I guess they just needed a little clean water..." he mused to himself before pulling out an MRE and sitting down at the pond's side, his rifle resting in his lap as he stared at the now crystal clear pond munching away, wondering what his next move should be...
(It does fail, but not because of a scientific error. I had an idea for an alternate FO: E ending for Red Eye’s fate, let’s say that Red Eye won the battle against the Enclave during Operation Cauterize and has remained in power since. He never died. Plus, going along with the alternate history thing for this RP, this should make a nice plot point. ) Crimson stood outside Stable City with Securitrons surrounding him and his team of scientists and the surviving ghoul population of Canterlot, eager to see the effects of their creation, with Summer and her team wearing rebrever masks. The ‘cure’ was attached onto a rocket the size of a wooden table, where once it reaches the right altitude, will disperse the cure onto the clouds and use jet’s that would stop the rocket from climbing higher into the sky. Once the cure was dispersed, the rockets will self destruct. Crimson stood besides the grave of Midnight Sparkle, the mother of Twilight Sparkle. While that he knew in the future the Enclave will specifically target the area, Crimson had upgraded the settlement to at least keep half of the population alive during Operation Cauterize. The colossal 50,000,000 bit bounty placed on his head since then has attracted the most extreme and skilled bounty hunters, all of them sharing graves. He turned his head at Summer and nodded as Summer went towards the rocket and activated it with the press of a few buttons. The rocket launched into the sky as the ponies, with the exception of Summer and Crimson, cheered below knowing that this is an answer to their problems. The rocket had reached an altitude of 500 meters until tragedy. A 50.cal round penetrated straight through the rocket, causing it to malfunction. The rocket then began to sputter until another round hit the fuel rods and the cure itself, blowing the rocket up in a spectacular explosion of hellfire as it rained death upon anything close to it. Summer and her team ran with two securitrons to find cover, while Crimson and the remainder of his force of securitrons looked around to see the one responsible. Crimson then seen something from a kilometre away. A squad of Red Eye’s soldiers, one of them holding an Anti Material Rifle. Before he could combat them, the securitron next to the Eternal had its monitor turning bright red, before showing the image of Red Eye himself. “Crimson Lionheart. The King of Diamonds of Equestria, The Archangel of Zebrica, The Crimson Reaper to the Griffons. You are known across the planet with many names. Your rocket is my first step to destroy your nation. Since Operation Cauterize, you have been my only target, my obsession. Your death would mean a completely united Equestria, with the remainder of the ‘minorities’ such as The Commandos and those at New Appaloosa being exterminated like Vermin. I know your legends, and I’m not afraid of you. Make no mistake, Los Pegasus will be destroyed.” The Securitron then turned rogue suddenly as it began to spray 9mm rounds at Crimson. The red unicorn dodged as he darted back and forth across the ground, throwing up almost as much dust as the bot it was rapidly approaching. A string of missiles left smoking trails from their launchers and hit the ground before the strange assailant, obscuring the view with a cloud of dust. Crimson sprang through it, bent in a leap directly towards the camera. The image bounced with his impact, and he drew his fist back. Crimson drove his fist through the projector screen, tearing the robot in half. Once the dust settled, Crimson looked again at the location of the original attackers, he was surprised to find that they simply vanished. Furious, he walked towards Summer and her team, who had found safety. For the first time in her life, she had never seen Crimson this angry. She was afraid to speak. They got onto the truck to return to Los Pegasus. Crimson remained quiet for almost the entire trip until they reached the halfway point of their destination. “If that’s what he wants’, he’s going to get a shocking wakeup call. I’m going to drop a righteous bucking hammer onto Red Eye’s head.” Crimson said as he looked at his team. “I’ll make a formal speech later, prepare for war.”
Jarii walked along in a random direction, hoping he would find some civilization soon. But what he got was the exact opposite from the inhabitants of a ruined building nearby. There was a yell, and the raiders that occupied it opened fire upon Jarii, and he instantly dove to the side to avoid their shots. Crawling behind a wall, he hid behind it as the rain of bullets pelted it. Taking a deep breath, he pulled out a grenade and looked at the heat signatures on his HUD's map. Pulling the pin, he cooked it off for three seconds before quickly throwing it over his shoulder. There was a loud curse from one of the ponies firing on him followed by an explosion. Quickly popping up and jumping over the wall, Jarii charged the building, opening fire on any pony he saw. The battle barely lasted a minute before all 10 raiders lay dead. Taking several deep breaths, Jarii quickly scavenged off the bodies for anything useful, then walked into the building, mindful of traps, when a small whimpering caught his attention, turning on his feet quickly and bringing up his rifle, he looked at the source, and saw a family of ponies and some others cowering in a cage from him. He knew he was supposed to hate Equestrians but...he lowered his rifle, "Dont worry, I'm going to get you out of here." He told them reassuring before looking around for some kind of key. He noticed what appeared to be a computer near the cage and walked over to it and powered it up. Easily cracking the simple password, he got access to a journal the "head raider" kept and disengaged the lock. Looking at the ponies who still tried to hide in fear of him, he walked over to the cage door and slid it open, taking off his helmet to show them he had emotion too, "Dont worry, you're safe now." He told them. It was obvious they had too much going through their head to properly respond, but Jarii was still caught off guard by a mare who simply decided to run at him and wrap him in a tight hug. Jarii awkwardly brought his hands up and hugged the mare back, and soon found himself doing the same to everyo-everypony else. After the hugs, Jarii offered them lunch, and there in the ruins of the 6 ponies' one time prison, they had their first "decent" meal in months, and friendly company from Jarii....
The moment Crimson arrived back into Los Pegasus, an enormous stage was set up in the centre of the main road known as ‘The Strip’ as he got himself prepared from wiping the dirt from his hair and making himself look more formal, dressing himself in a suit and a tie. Within the next hour, Crimson stood in front of a crowd of tens of thousand ponies and residents of the city. The looks on their faces showing concern, others curious about the news. Crimson looked saddened, but also angered. He stepped towards the podium and began to speak. His voice being broadcasted across every single radio station in the wasteland and interrupting songs and programs, Dj Pon3 was being a major broadcaster. “To the citizens of Los Pegasus, whom I love like my own children. This morning, we have been faced with a terrible force of events. This morning, on 20th April ****, the Federation of Los Pegasus received a declaration of war by forces of Red Eye. Shortly before the threat was issued, a weather device created to remove the cloud over the capital of our once great nation, Canterlot, was shot down and destroyed. During the Enclave assault all those years ago, Red Eye emerged victorious and strengthened its position in the Equestrian wasteland. It will be recorded that the distance of Canterlot from Fillydelphia makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time Red Eye has deliberately sought to deceive the Federation by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace. The attack this morning has caused damage to Los Pegasus’s best interests and the lives of the wastelanders outside of the Federation. I regret to tell you that very many Equestrian lives have been lost due to the attoricites committed by Red Eye. In addition, Soldiers under Red Eye’s command have been reported attacking small settlements across the wasteland, seeking to gain the advantage against our nation and the Equestrian wasteland. Red Eye has therefore undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the wasteland. The facts of his rule and today speak for themselves. The people of the Federation have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation. As Commander-in-Chief of the military, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defence, that always will our whole federation remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, we will win against our enemy through victory. Hostilities exist, and there is nothing hiding that. Our people, our Federation and our interests are in danger. With complete confidence in our Federation and the unbounding determination of our people, we will stand victorious. From today onwards, a state of war will be declared against Red Eye and his entire empire. We all understand the consequences of failure if we were to lose, which is why when the time comes to combat the tyrant, we will ensure that such treachery from ponies like him will never have the power to harm another again. I ask for your commitment, your guidance to help others including myself in this dark time, and for what you believe in for the defence of our nation. Thank you, and may Celestia and Luna praise you.” Crimson received a thunderous applause from the crowd which then turned into loud cheering that could be heard for miles. Crimson thanked the crowd before being escorted by two guards into his tower. Not only did he show Red Eye a message, but he was serious about ending him. And gods help them if they lost....
After eating an MRE lunch with the ponies he had rescued, he realized that these ponies...were defenseless, if he let them wonder off on their own, they would likely either die or just get captured once more, so he made up his mind, "Would you like me to escort you all to Las Pegasus?" he asked, "That's the closest spot of civilization I know of in this area..." 12 wide eyes stared at him, "L-Las P-Pegasus?" one stammered in shock. "Well, yea, I know its leader, uh, Crimson Lionheart that's the name, I'm sure I could get him to accept you!" Jarii said brightly before once again being smothered by hugs from joyful and thankful ponies.
