Janii chuckled, "Eh, it's alright, but I'm sure you'ld like to get back to sleep, so I"ll leave you be. Don't worry, not going to rob you while your sleep!" (Next morning?)
(Ok) Charlotte woke up the next morning, slightly more comfortable than what she felt in the previous town but not comfortable enough to be considered a decent rest. Still, this was a rare luxury to be resting in an area like this. From experience, this beats concrete any day.
Janii was awake already, his back to Charlotte as he browsed a shrunk down hologram projection menu on his PIC-SALI, but hearing her stir made him quickly close it down and pull out his breakfast bar, acting like he didn't notice she just woke up, knowing the average person, whether Terrean or Earth, wouldn't have
Charlotte woke up and got to her knees as she looked back at the hooded man, reaching out for bag as she sprung to life. "Morning, sleep well?"
Junii tuened his head, "Oh, good morning. And yea." He pulled out a breakfast bar that was unwrapped already and offered it to her, "Breakfast?" He offered as he put his backpack on, standing up and turning to face Charlotte
"Sure, thank you" Charlotte said as she gingerly took the breakfast bar from the hands of the man. She rose up from the ground before standing upright and taking a bite of the bar before making sure that everything was in her bag for when she made her move again towards the larger town.
Janii followed Charlotte, knowing she was heading to another town, after all, doubt she was going to the middle of nowhere. "So...where exactly are you headed to? And what's it called?" He asked, curious to learn about ancient Earth and America. ******* An intelligence officer from the Air Force handed a major general a reporr, "Sir! Satillate reconissence shows the unknown entity walking with someone or something about 30 klicks to the northwest from the Prime Incident location, destination unknown but we have satilletes passing over that area ever chance we get to keep as good a visual as we can on them! Also, the Russians, Europeans, and Chinese are wondering about the Entry incident, what should we tell them?"
"Me?" Charlotte replied. "I just wander across America. I've been homeless for about six years, and an Orphan before that until the orphanage itself burnt down. I've walked all the way from the East Coast alone, doing everything I can to survive until I can finally find purpose in my life." Charlotte looked at the stranger and had a slight smile on her face. "I'm not really that interesting..." she joked. ----------------------------------- The Secretary of Defense thought for a moment before looking at the officer. "It was an unknown entry, we're currently investigating into this. They do not need to know the full entry until we discover what we're dealing with."
Janii raised an eyebrow at Charlotte, "All that by yourself? That's quite a ways." He noted, but not sure how far ir was, but it sounded a long way, "As for me, well, lets just say it's better if you don't know about me, I'm not a criminal, but I sure do get treated like one..." he muttered ****** The officer nodded, "And what about the Unknown? Shall we dispatch units to surround and captured? Recon shows his craft isn't in the area so he wouldn't slip away again."
The Secretary nodded in response. "I believe that we shouldn't take any chances. I don't want the military involved until we know exactly what we're dealing with, so we'll send the local law enforcement and we will have them reinforced with SWAT units. If it's hostile however, then the green light would be given for the military."
"Yes sir, I'll notify the state marshalls, SWAT, and all available local enforcement to try to capture the unknown." The intelligence offered replied. ***** After a few hours of walking, Janii's ears picked up the sound of a few distant helicopters, narrowing his eyes, his mind just began to wonder what the hell helicopters were doing in this nothingness when the sound of car engines filled the air and several large black SWAT vehicles charged out of the tall grass and surrounded them, at least 2 dozen SWAT, state troopers, and marshalls took firing positions behind the cars. Janii narrowed his eyes, "This again, really?" he asked. "Put your hands behind your head and get on your knees right this instant! A you! Little girl! Get over here!" one yelled over a loudspeaker. Janii was suddenly infuriated, throwing off the cloak to reveal his Gloriian military armor and put a finger up to his temple on the helmet to deploy the visor, "I do not bow before anyone!" He yelled back as suddenly two drones deployed from his back, "I am a damn 7th Magniitium Legio Legioarii, I am 50 light years and 5,000 years away from my home world and you [censored] bastards won't leave me alone! And I highly suggest YOU put up your weapons! I don't want a damn fight!" A silence fell over the field and Janii pushed Charlotte gently towards the officers, "Go, Ii no Iirthliin, go be with your own kind." he said gently before returning his attention the officers, targeting each one just in case. If they opened fired, it seemed unlikely any of them had any weapons strong enough to punch through his armor, but it would certainly hurt like hell, and he most certainly didn't want to kill any of them.
Charlotte had no idea what to do, but quickly ran over to the officers. At this point, she was just confused about what was happening and had no idea what to do. The SWAT officers had no idea what to do, pointing their weaponry at Janii. Charlotte then decide to run off the road and dive downwards into a patch of dirt, knowing what is likely going to happen. Eventually, one officer's finger slipped from his rifle as it shot a bullet directly at Janii, and from there followed the entire SWAT unit as they suddenly roared into life.
Janii dived as the SWAT suddenly opened fire,, getting hit a few times but as guessed, his armor held and the adrenaline dulled the pain, overheard, his drones divebombed the officers, shooting them in the legs and arms, aiming to incapacitate. Getting behind a van, he sent a punch slamming into the gut of the first officer who tried to take him on, doubling over in pain before recieving a knee to the face. Before they could react, Janii slammed into the three other officers, dealing with them swiftly before commendeering the van. He could hear the helicopters getting closer as he went to pull away but stopped in time to pick up Charlotte. Buckling in, he quickly figured out how to drive the vechile and was zooming off as fast as he could, gripping the steering wheel tightly, "Got you because if I didn't...they likely would have...brought you in for questioning..." he muttered before cursing in Gloriian and put a hand on his side, "Ow...bruise I think..." he muttered as they quickly pulled away as the officers weren't expecting a chase, rolling down the windows to allow the drones in and return to rest positions next to him.
Charlotte, confused as ever, looked over to Janii as she tried to adjust herself to a seatbelt of the van as it sped across the road. "I can see what you don't like talking about yourself, your not even human are you? What are you?"
"Terrean." Janii replied, "Real name's Janii. Terreans and humans aren't too different, we're just stronger and faster because of the higher gravity on Terra. I'm from a nation called Glory, largest, most powerful single nation on Terra." He explained simply, "I also came from 5000 years in the future to what is right now here."
"Wow...you're from the future and you're what is considered....can I say it?" Charlotte replied, not wishing to simply bland Janii as an 'alien'. "Your from across the stars, which means that humanity's question has been answered. And that you also came from the future, which also opens up a whole bunch of questions! Humanity haven't encountered anything like you yet...." Charlotte suddenly stopped before her eyes widened in shock. "Oh no...that means that if they know what you are now, then they'll be ruthlessly hunting you down. If they take me, then they'll likely kill me as well." Charlotte suddenly realized.
Janii chuckled, "They would be fools to kill me, I've already sent an emergency beacom home, which means within a month, a frigate will appear to rescue me and if they found I had been killed...well, it wouldn't be pretty. And I'm sure they are thinking something along those lines. I've already shown I'm not an invader but using non-lethal force. I even said I was here by accident. At most, they'll capture me for interrogation. And I have 9 years of insurgent, anti-interrogation, and military training umder my belt. Right now, my main concern is you." ***** The video cd contianing footage of the encounter was set on the Secretary of Defense's table, the intelligence officer said, "He got away sir. No deaths, used small armed drones to keep our men at bay then overpowered four to commendeer a SWAT vam. What do you say we do?"
The Secretary of the Defense sighed deeply before thinking to himself, where he would then speak up a moment later. "We now know what we're dealing with, and sending in the military won't particularly be the safest idea at the moment. However, I don't see any other peaceful way of dealing with this. For now, I want an enormous cooperation between police forces across the state, we want him alive." ----------------------------------------------- "There is no need to worry about me, I'm just a ghost in a world full of people...." Charlotte said grimly, staying silent for a moment before her thoughts made her speak up. "Where are we going?"
Janii suddenly paused, before admitting, "Honestly, I have mo idea. However, I hacked into your planet's global positioning system last night, connected my PIC-SALI to it."he said before projectimg the hologram innetween them, "Tell me where to go, please?" ***** "You sure sir? The last thing we need is it getting out to the public. Maybe send in a special ops unit in the night to grab him while he sleeps?" He asked/suggested to the SoD
"Yeah, you're right. They don't need to know, I want SOCOM informed about this." The SOD replied back. ------------------------- "I suggest we avoid populated areas as much as possible, head out into the Rocky Mountains here" Charlotte pointed out on the map. "Hell of a drive however, but we would be safer than where we just where."
