Two months later Upon arriving on Terra, Charlotte had been living with Jarii and had been enrolled into a technical college to help improve her skills in the field while still maintaining a decent education. While several years behind the other students, it didn't stop her to being one of the brightest in her classes and she succeeded many of her subjects with flying colours. While spending time with Jarii, she considered him almost like the father she never had. This brought her inner peace, knowing that she never had to be alone again.
Janii spent the years trying to be the father Charlotte never had, caring for her as much as he could, teaching her how to act Gloriian and more ever, give her a family. (That's a wrap?)
(Alright. I'm thinking of something along the lines of an Alternate WW2. I did have this one idea about a Second American Civil War set in the late 2080's that I've written in a sketch book about three years ago. It's an idea for a video game, but I think we could make it work for this idea. Basically in a nutshell, the current American government completely collapses and America is in chaos. Several years later, a ruthless totalitarian regime is set up and rules for decades. In the late 2060's, something serious occurs and California decides to seceded from this new America and is followed by numerous other states until America is basically split into two. The West wishes for total independence from America and essentially form a new country, while the East wants to maintain control. How it ends will be played out.) (Oh look, 4000 posts)
(Way to go! Also, I doubt California would be the first to secede, California is not a hotbed of sucession. I can already tell you that the moment the national government collapsed, Texas and likely some other southern states would set up their own governments. Texss remaking the Republic of Yexas and the south recreating the Confederacy. And Texas would likely be very prosperous on its own because it has all it needs to be self sufficient)
(I've had the idea of separating the two powers into four. The blue would be the 'loyalist' government, which is essentially a totalitarian regime. Included in yellow is the 'separatists', which currently has no name so I'm just going to use 'Panem' as a temporary name placeholder for now. The Red is a reformed Confederacy with the exception of 'You-know-who' and Green is an independent Texas, unfortunately stuck in the middle of this mess. Alaska would be neutral. (Alright, we'll go ahead with this. I'll start) America, 2089. After a terrible collapse of the national government following a series of disasters, America entered a period of chaos. Families broken, fires burning, the establishments of one of the worlds superpowers were torn apart. For five years after the collapse, chaos ruled supreme. In 2026, the surviving remnants of the United States government banded together and promised peace to a nation in war against itself. They promised shelter, equality and safety. They claimed to build a heaven yet their heaven was filled with horrors. The 'President' was now an ghost of what he formerly was. From Democracy to a Dictatorship. This 'rule' lasted until the 2060's, when one state of the West decided that after been abused and tortured, enough was enough and decided and separated. Soon, it was followed by several other states in the West until it was completely under it's new banner. While the West wanted Independence, the East acted with violence. With a weakened America, the Confederacy had emerged in the south once more. What they lacked in numbers, they made up with spirit. Not long after, the Republic of Texas declared total independence from America and became self-sustainable. Unfortunately, the three powers would relish in the opportuniy to have Texas as an ally, or under their boot Soon, the Second American Civil War will begin. What would follow would change the world.
Red River, Texas. Border of Oklahoma. Private First Class Allen DeLan dumped yet another scoop of dirt from the front loader into the huge 7ft by 7ft bags held in shape by razor wire in replacement for sandbags in a wall that was being built around Texas. They would make a row two deep then another on top to make a walkway for patrols then encase the bags in a foot of concrete, using a mix stolen from the Romans to ensure long lastingness, leaving only the sharp razor wire exposed. There was also fifty feet of anti-personnel, anti-tank trenches, barbed wire, and landmines of all kinds going right up to the banks of the river, which was littered with spikes(much like the ones of the beaches in Normandy in WW2) to make it all the harder to cross. These were going around the entire state. The effort to build defenses around the massive state and arm the population and military had revitalized the economy. Thanks to the already separate Texas electric grid, they didn't have the problem the New Confederacy did of having their electricity shut off as well. In the past few years, several sections had already been completed, the Rio Grande, the Panhandle, the East Texas border, and much of far West Texas (The sections that needed it as mountains would make it hard enough as it is). Only fifty miles remained before Texas was sealed off entirely by the wall, but the trenches and other defenses had long been completed, and the heavy deployment of troops in the area made sure that the North wouldn't try to attack from Oklahoma before the gap was sealed. Thankfully, the relative flatness of both sides of the river meant any attack would have long been seen, and the buildup on the other side of the river was no heavier than their own presense, if not less. The current intel avaliable suggested that any troops not "needed for the defense of held territories" were deployed to the front lines with the West, who, the last they heard, had been driven right up to the base of the Rocky Mountains with Denver as their last major stronghold not in the mountains themselves.
Los Angeles, Capital of the Republic of Sonia. Master Sergeant Lucas Del Nero, Captain of a Sonian squad in the 2nd Infantry Division had been enjoying a brief period of peace since the United States in the East had declared a temporary cease fire. Since the West left America, the East and West had been through a period of brutal civil-war that already claimed millions of lives. Only since early February had the cease fire been in effect, but it would had done nothing yet to properly end the war. The war had been going for just over 20 years, and it was a war that had taken a toll on almost everyone involved. Texas wishes to remain independent, but is unfortunately stuck in the middle of the conflict with no way to avoid it. The New Confederacy has tried to invade the north but had very little current success. Whenever they took an important strategic location, the US in the north would then bounce back and steamroll the Confederate troops. The only serious threat was Sonia, which held a larger territory and had better soldiers than the US, but were only slightly below the US in terms of technology. Lucas walked across the street, dressed in a plain black hoodie and a pair of jeans. He had spiky blonde hair of a moderate length and a thick goatee, but the man was already well into his early 40's and was surprisingly well-trained. All he wished for was the war to end, and soon.

The cities with the circles around them with the dashed lines are capitals (but that was before I knew you put Sonia's capital at Los Angeles ) They filled in the last wall bag fairly soon, the army of front loaders at work made it a very quick job. Soon, Allen DeLan had the privilege of watching the last pours of concrete poured in as people from the media point their cameras at a hologram of the President of the Republic of Texas, who couldn't come due to the potential of assassination. "People of the Republic of Texas, the Great Wall...Has been completed! It shall stand as a symbol of our determination, our independence, our neutrality in this ongoing conflict in the former United States. As the first nation to unofficially form during the Dark Times and the second to officially, we have sent a clear message to both ourselves, the rest of the former United Sates, and the world, at least what's left of it, that Texas is not a small nation to be trifled with, we are Texans! We stick together no matter what! And to any who wish to try to prey upon us, just remember should you try to conquer us, you will have a long, bloody conflict ahead of you, as I and the entire nation of Texas know, we would rather die free than live under the yoke of a foreign master." (To me, I would say the advantages each nation is this: The "Union" would be lots of troops that are very welled trained and armed, along with large coffers to pay for offensives with ease Sonia would be well trained troops that are experienced in fighting the Union mostly Texas would be just absolute fanatical troops and extremely well armed and trained due to the fact that Texas has a ton of military bases in it along with a large veteran population(but it would mainly want everyone to f off and once everyone is weak fron war, then they would strike and take their desired lands( And the South would be mainly fanatical troops due to the overall poverty of the area with lots of guns and hard terrain, making a harder than it looks place to invade)

He had been on payed leave for a while after suffering a severe injury in his lungs, but he lived alone and considered himself married to his job as a solider. He turned on a remote as a projection screen came to life to reveal a selection of what passed as TV nowadays. Most of the time, it was nothing but pointless reality shows or singing competitions. Even with about 20 standard free-to-air channels, about eight of them were infomercials. Grumbling all the while, he kept searching through the channels until footage came up of a women in her fifty with grey hair and a brown/gray colored suit. It was the President Forrest. She began her address to the people of Sonia and it went into depth about the conditions of the war, but one part of the speech struck out the most. "No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the people of Sonia, in our own right, will take us today either a victory or defeat in this war. I can assure the people of Sonia that our Congress and the enemies of the Union and all other hostile states that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery and deceit will never strike down upon innocent lives again.”
(Oh, fun American Civil War facts; Texan troops were all around so great and badass that they; defended three of the Confederate States virtually on their own (Texas, Louisana, and Arkansas), they had troops fighting in Virginia that almost always known and feared in particular, they took over the Arizona territory, almost the New Mexico territory, and California would have likely followed, they invaded states as far north as Kansas and Missourii, almost taking over those states as well (failed mainly due to long supply lines and overstretched troops) and once a fort of 80 hungover soldiers and a single cannon defeated a large-scale Union invasion of Texas. All at the same time, Texas was the only Confederate State to never have pretty much any Union holdings in it. Really, Texas itself was never defeated in the Civil War, we only are a part of the US today because some guys in Virginia surrendered) The next day, DeLan was sent on leave, so he went home to Fort Worth, a now largely military city that formed an integral part of the defense of North Texas, if an invasion were to break through the front line in North Texas, the main counterattack would likely come from here. As he flopped down to watch some tv on his hologram projector, he looked through the several news and propaganda channels to an international channel, BBC, reporting on the Battle of Denver. "As fighting in Denver draws into its third week, current reports suggest that the Denver International and Defense Airport, from which Soria aircraft took off to provide close air support and go on deep bombing missions into the Union, has fallen. The Soria military command has denied this, saying the airport is still throughly under their control, put heavy fighting is underway. If DIDA has indeed fallen, our analysts say it would be a major blow to Soria troops defending the city and would likely pave the way for a Union take over of the city. In other International News, China has finally officially split after a decade of infighting following the War of Indo-China with India. Nations created include Tibet, Xinjang, and Bejiing. Also, the Republic of Korea is celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the War of Reunification with the former People's Republic of Korea. The Middle East remains torn apart in the most recent spate of sectarian versus secular violence and Africa is still a mess. In other news a bit closer to home, Prime Minister Williams has cemented a new trade deal with the Republic of Texas and plans for a joint manned space mission to either to Moon or Mars soon, this is another step Texas has taken to bring itself closer to the UK and EU in recent years. That is it for Speedy News."
Lucas grumbled as he flicked over to another news channel where news about the siege of the DIDA, noticing that the Sonia military command (S.M.C) has done relatively little to keep control of the city. He knew that the the Sonian forces had an entire battalion of 'Rocket-Jumpers', highly trained troopers equipped with Jet packs that were nightmares in urban combat. Although their armor was constructed out of Kevlar and another hyper light yet tough material, they were vulnerable in the air. What annoyed Lucas that there was an entire battalion of free Rocket Jumpers, doing nothing, that could have completely turned the tide of the entire assault in Denver. He was expecting the phone-call to return back into active service anytime within the next day or so, but all he could do is wait. Wait and spend his time unfortunately doing nothing.
