So what do YOU call it? Ponycore, Broniecore, or something else? Is there a history?

Didn't see a thread on the subject so excuse me if there is...

Any genre of music needs a name at some point and I think obviously MLP themed music does as well. It just comes down to what people agree with using and what sticks. I see a lot of people use Ponycore and Broniecore pretty equally although I think Broniecore implies its all guys making the music which i don't THINK is the case. So have you seen a particular term work best for it or being used more consistently than others?

One thing I've noticed (being a huge fan of music genres and the history of their development) is the Ponycore (the term i like to use) is predominantly electronic (like 90% of it) so whether it's dubstep, trance, house, electro, or even orchestral, it's almost always a person on a pc making it. That really different from something like Wizard Rock (the closest genre as its dedicated to people making music about Harry Potter) which was almost entirely DIY ROCK bands and rarely electronic. But the same passion about an all ages show/movie and fan's making DIY music about it has a lot of similarities.

I'd have to think a big reason for Ponycore being electronic is the digital need, being able to use show samples in the music, not having to rely on several people for a band, and most importantly to combine this with youtube videos which are an integral part of the scene. It's kind of a no-brainer why it works that way.

I know I'm typing a lot but is there a particular artist that has sort of set things off in terms of being the first to put out MLP music? I know Eurobeat Bronie was one of the first to put out albums as were The Beatle Bronies. Swagberg also being on of the more visible releases and few hip-hop centered tracks. Many of these gained ground on Bandcamp quickly but do you see any other particular artists being central to starting the MLP music scene early and influencing the rest who came after?
