"I know," she said gently, working quickly on his prosthetic. "But you need to trust me, okay? Do you trust me?"
"Tell me about your day. Has anything been bothering you?" She got the prosthetic off and began to work on unbuckling him.
She frowned, brushing his hair back again before finally getting the buckle off. "Okay. Gabe? Can you move?"
"I know, Gabe," she said soothingly, taking his arm to help lead him out. "I know. Just take deep breaths, okay? I got you."
"I know, sweetie," she said gently, managing to get him out. "C'mon. I'll take you to my house and patch you up."
