She looked down at him, her eyes narrowing in sympathy. "Here. I'll get you some ice. Can you drink the water for me?"
She came over and gently set the ice on his collarbone. "There. That should make it better," she said with a sigh, sliding to the floor and leaning back against the foot of the couch.
She looked up in confusion, her brows furrowing. "That's the second time you've done that," she said quietly, turning to look at him and resting her chin on the edge of the cushion. "Is it a new habit of yours?"
She laughed slightly, clearly not understanding. "I like you too, Gabe," she said easily, resting her head on her hand.
She stared at him with those intense eyes, seeming utterly bewildered. Finally, she sighed and pressed her fingers to her eyelids as if warding off a bright light. "You have... a crush on me?"
Her fingers slipped to her mouth and she opened her eyes to look at him. "Huh," she said after a moment, dropping her hands. "You have a crush on me. I'm weirdly okay with that."
"It's okay. Don't worry, alright? You're still my best friend," she said, smiling reassuringly. "We should try to get some sleep, though. I can sleep down here."
