"Oh, bull*squee!*!" she growled, the curse sharp and unfamiliar in her mouth. "You knew exactly what you were doing! Don't apologize if you're just going to do it again!"
"I don't even know," she said disgustedly. "I'm so disappointed. I thought you were smarter than this."
She seemed irate now, squinting at him and stepping towards him as if advancing a charge. "What do you think we would do if we lost you? Huh? Did you ever think about that?!"
She froze instantly, her eyes widening. Her lips were cold from the rain, droplets on her cheeks. There was a pause for a moment before she gave in, relaxing in his arms and kissing him back, her hand coming up tentatively to rest on his neck.
She said nothing, her hand coming up to rest on her lips as she looked at him with something like shock.
